For all you guys and gals out there that think since we got a little rain this week it’s ok to go ahead and burn the trash you have been saving even though we are still in a burn ban. Remember this. There are currently 3 fire depts here in Haskell county with lots of volunteers currently working a big grass fire out in the Garland area. That’s approximately 20 volunteers giving up their Friday night to protect our community. We don’t put these burn bans in just to try and be in control. We put these in because so many people don’t realize the real danger these fires have. Especially in 30 mph winds. Please be mindful.

The burn ban for Haskell County has been extended another 7 days!!! Absolutely no outside burning!!!

Just so everyone knows we are still in a burn ban. We are still considered to be in an extreme drought. If we don’t get more rain soon expect this burn ban to be extended. It is going to take way more than an inch of rain to get us out of this drought we are in!!!

Just because we got some rain today doesn’t mean the fire danger is gone. We are in an extreme drought and it will take a while for everything to get back to normal!!!

🔥🚫 ACTIVE BURN BAN REMAINS IN EFFECT 🚫🔥

Even though we received rain yesterday and today, the ACTIVE burn ban has NOT been rescinded by the Board of County Commissioners.

🚫 Outdoor burning is still prohibited.

Please continue to follow all burn ban restrictions to help prevent wildfires and protect our communities, property, and first responders.

✅ We will share updates as soon as any changes are officially announced.
Stay safe, Haskell County! 🚓 🚒
