Official Statement: Cancellation of the 4th of July Parade

We regret to announce that this year’s 4th of July Parade has been canceled. This difficult decision was made due to unforeseen circumstances.

We understand how much this tradition means to our community, and we share in your disappointment.

Our team explored every possible option to move forward, but we were unable to find a solution.

We thank you for your continued support and understanding, and we look forward to celebrating together again in the future.

We would like to congratulate our Kids Parade winners. MaKenna Hamil, Rustyn Fox, and Addie Kauk.

We would also like to thank everyone who helped make this parade happen. We definitely could not have done it without you.

We are still taking entries for the 4th of July Parade. We will also accept last-minute entries.

Parade Route will travel from the Sheriff's office in front of the bank and then turn East at Big D's. The sun will be in the West so the west side of 183 will be shaded.

We are so excited Margaret Morris is our Grand Marshall. She taught for over 40 years.

We are so excited to announce we are doing the parade a little differently this year. We want all kids, ages 13 & Under to participate. Kids will Meet in front of the Sheriff's Office and travel North on Broadway for 1 Block. They will meet their parents at Broadway and Main so they can sit and watch the rest of the parade.

Update on the fourth- there WILL be a fireworks show!! Which means parade and hot dog/watermelon feed are STILL ON! 🤩 Stay tuned for following updates and announcements!

If you are planning on having a float, please let us know so we can get you on the lineup!

This is NOT a notice of cancellation. Chris has contacted us and let us know they are actively seeking assistance with funding for the show and are trying to be able to still put it on. We should know a definite answer soon.

In light of the Hornes no longer doing the fireworks show this year, we find ourselves at a crossroads. We’ve put time, money, and effort into organizing the parade and hot dog feed and we are needing your input- since there will no longer be a fireworks show, will there be anyone coming to watch the parade and/or eat at the park? We don’t want to finalize details, if in fact, we need to cancel them.

We will meet Tuesday, June 18th at 6pm in the Board room at the Taloga Bank.

This meeting is open to anyone who would like to join the Taloga Auxiliary or volunteer your time to help with 4th of July Activities.

We will be making final preparations for the 4th of July festivities.
