Our first meeting of April 29 was at Walthourville City Hall, where the City had a grand welcome for our team! We received a heroes welcome from Mayor Sarah Hayes, pictured on the left; and City Clerk, Shana Moss, pictured at the lectern; who served as the MC for the event. Local Liberty County Clergy members surrounded us, offering prayers and blessings to our team. We were greatly moved and blessed by their most powerful prayers for our protection and success! They even sang for us! We presented Mayor Sarah Hayes with our Torch-Bearer Award in honor of her outstanding spirit of dedicated service to her community in countless ways. She won the hearts of our team members from the moment we met her! We also offered our Torch-Bearer Award to Pastor Katrina Deason, who is also well known by all for her commitment to loving and serving the community through her ministry, service to the needy and even setting up a Community Radio Station!  She lives close by in the City of Hinesville and is affectionately known as the “Heart of Hinesville”.  She has served as pioneer and senior pastor of The Liberty Prayer Chapel for 24 years.

A wonderful day in Nebraska. We rode from Columbus to Fremont about 51 miles. Had the good fortune of stopping in and meeting William who generously and conscientiously took care of all our tire travails. Great bike shop with even greater service. Gratitude.

Today we rode 55 miles on the Cowboy Trail from Valentine, NE to Long Pine, NE. It was great to get off the road. We met the Mayor of Long Pine, Ed Brown and the Treasurer, Jan Buoy. Thanks for greeting us. Every mile there was a marker with a horse shoe and railroad spike which is the logo of the Cowboy Trail. It is a trail converted from an old railroad line that was last used in 1992. We went across a couple of very impressive trestle bridges.

Bearing a torch ablaze and a message of world peace, a group of international runners stopped in Broome today as part of the Australian leg of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run.

Beginning on April 24 in Canberra, the runners have journeyed through towns including Melbourne, Hobart, Sydney, and Adelaide before finally making their way to WA.

Tomorrow, the team will run 220 km northeast of Broome to Derby, and then the next day to Fitzroy Crossing.

National Coordinator Stacey Marsh said, “the main objective is simply to share the message that peace starts inside the heart of each one of us."

"We all make a difference in the world through our own thoughts and actions. It’s also about highlighting the great things happening in every community.”
