Our Vision
The Sylbyl -Denver Training Facilities teach and host a variety of Martial Arts specializing in Authentic Combat Sambo, kickboxing, boxing, Ju-jitsu, and more. Our coaches are certified, experienced, genuine, and great at what they do. Not only do we host Martial Arts but a complete line of athletic developmental programs, educational, fitness and health, gardening programs, small busi
ness consultation services and a variety of aspects to our facilities to cater to bettering our low income and impoverished communities in Northeast Louisiana and Central Mississippi and surrounding areas. We have the vision to reintroduce traditional home economics, financial literacy, gardening, martial arts, and health and wellness back into the communities and schools. We have more areas of importance, yet we prioritize these due to them being fundamental to a high functioning society. SDTF has the hope of creating community self-serving facilities that cater to all ages, and promote generational health, economic growth, job opportunities, scholarships, mentorship, and that also serves as a literal safe haven to those in need. Through these programs, we aspire to bridge the gap and yield a higher rate of healthy, productive citizens. Is established to rebuild and mold the minds of whomever we encounter; from the youth to the adults, we are striving to make a positive stance in our community. Far too long our community and its surrounding areas have been associated with obesity, low School district scores, low state testing scores, violence, etc. According to research done by the USDA, “about 74% of adults are overweight or have obesity. Adults ages 40 to 59 have the highest rate of obesity (43%) of any age group with adults 60 years and older having a 41% rate of obesity. About 40% of children and adolescence are overweight or have obesity; the rate of obesity increases throughout childhood and teen years. Risk factors associated with obesity are cardiovascular disease, diabetes, cancer, etc.” Other data analysis done by the Healthy Communities Coalition in Madison Parish concluded that Madison Parish ranks 62 of 64 in overall health outcomes. A study done by the Center for Disease Control pertaining to Physical Activity and Academic Achievement concluded that,” participating in physical activity was positively related to outcomes including academic achievement, academic behaviors, and indicators of cognitive skills and attitudes, such as concentration, memory, self-esteem, and verbal skills. The Research Center for Physical Activity and Health states that being active is positively associated with educational outcomes; all the way into post compulsory education and leading into a successful adulthood. Positive health outcomes, employability, earnings, and economic growth. I could go on and on with statistical data that speaks to the reasons that we see a need to rebuild a healthy, motivated, focused model citizen; whether that be man, woman or child, we are Here For You! We believe that there is a major link in being physically fit, having a healthy lifestyle routine established and the way we think/ process information. SDTF will help facilitate Madison Parish with an opportunity for educational, social and economic growth. Our goal is to remove the negative stigmas associated with our cities by creating centers that teach and reinforce the physical aspects of health, fitness, conflict resolution, educational priorities, financial literacy, environmental stability, and how to implement these practices in our daily lives.to continue to bridge the gap.
