Greater Akron Aquarium Society

Monthly meetings are held on the SECOND FRIDAY of the month at 8 pm, at the Ritchie Memorial Shelter Our Club was founded back in 1952!

Through the years our Club has grown and evolved into our current events. We hold our annual ULTRA AQUA All Species Fish Show, as well as 3 main Fish Auctions in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. We hold monthly Meetings, 2 of which are dedicated to annual celebration parties and we issue our Bi-monthly Tank Topics Newsletter to all our members. We are expanding our web presence with our online website AkronFishClub.com as well as our social media page and Group.

Our Next Meeting Is on Friday August 14—Note the 7 pm Start
Our annual picnic meeting is on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 7:00 pm at the Ritchie Memorial Shelter House, 109 West Avenue, Tallmadge, Ohio. Although we call it a picnic, but please do not bring any dish. Here are the details.
Menu: BBQ chicken, and a Hot dog bar with many toppings to dress it up. Baked beans, Potato salad, macaroni salad, broccoli slaw, fresh fruit, & desserts.
Here are the details:

· Note the special start time: Please arrive at 7:00 pm. The picnic will start at approximately 7:00 pm
· Cost at the door: Members, $5. Non-members, $15 (which includes a 2-year membership)
· It will be a picnic (hotdog bar) with no speaker or program
· All food and drink will be provided by GAAS. No need to bring any food. See the menu attached
· There will be an equipment raffle
· There will be no bowl show
· There will be no BAP/HAP auction. If you’d like to turn in a spawn or plant for BAP/HAP, then that will be part of the “Fishy Exchange”
· The “Exchange” is for hobby-related items and for livestock and plants. Just bring 1 bag (or two or more) of fish you've raised or have extra to share, a new piece of equipment or decoration, or some plants or live food and add it to the gift table. Obtain a ticket from Rich Serva, and when your ticket number is called, then take something else home!
