FNCAC is thrilled to partner with USF's School of Social Work on this workforce development project. Thanks to the Florida Center for Behavioral Health Workforce for the opportunity!

Childhood trauma can have lasting impacts on mental health, yet access to evidence-based care remains limited for many children and families.

That’s why FCBHW is funding a project to expand access to trauma-informed care across Florida.

Led by the USF College of Behavioral & Community Sciences in partnership with the Florida Network of Children's Advocacy Centers, this initiative implements a stepped-care model that begins with a parent-led, therapist-assisted approach.

This model aims to enable more families to access care earlier, while ensuring clinicians can focus their time on children with the most intensive needs.

This project is part of FCBHW’s work to grow, retain and innovate Florida’s behavioral health workforce.

This Memorial Day, FNCAC honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We also hold space for the families and loved ones who carry the weight of that loss every single day. We are deeply grateful for their sacrifice, their courage, and their unwavering commitment to protecting others.

We are closed today in observance of Memorial Day and will reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, May 27.

Leadership at a Children’s Advocacy Center requires more than managing day-to-day responsibilities, it requires the ability to lead with purpose, navigate complexity, and strengthen the systems that support children and families.

Over the past two days, FNCAC was proud to host The Vital Link: Strategic Leadership Training for CAC Mid-Level Leaders, bringing together leaders from across Florida to strengthen skills, build connections, and invest in professional growth that strengthens the Children’s Advocacy Center movement statewide.
A special thank you to our trainer, Greg Flett with CAC Resources, and Kalphria Wilson for leading participants through this impactful leadership development experience and helping strengthen their “Leadership Stance” while equipping mid-level leaders with practical tools to lead with confidence and effectiveness.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to meaningful conversations, shared experiences, and collaborative learning. Investing in leadership development helps strengthen CAC teams, multidisciplinary partnerships, and ultimately the support provided to children and families across Florida.

As Child Abuse Prevention Month comes to a close, our commitment to protecting children continues every day of the year.

Prevention starts with all of us; families, neighbors, educators, professionals, and communities working together to create safe, supportive environments where children can thrive.

Thank you to everyone who used their voice, shared resources, wore blue, and stood with us this month. Let’s keep the momentum going, because every child deserves safety, hope, and healing.

Wear your denim. Raise awareness. Stand with survivors.

Today, FNCAC joins communities across Florida and beyond in recognizing Denim Day, a powerful reminder to challenge harmful myths about sexual violence and support survivors.

By wearing denim, you help spark conversations, show solidarity, and stand against victim blaming.

Together, we can create safer communities for children and families.

Tomorrow is Denim Day. Wear your denim to stand with survivors and help us raise awareness about sexual violence.

We’re proud to share that FNCAC Executive Director, Luzed Cruz, is featured in a recent Tampa Bay Times opinion piece highlighting the urgent need for continued federal support for services that protect abused and victimized children.

The article calls attention to the importance of the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act, legislation that would help sustain critical funding for victim services, including Children’s Advocacy Centers that provide healing, hope, and justice for children and families across Florida.

Now more than ever, we must ensure these lifesaving resources remain available for every child who needs them. We encourage lawmakers to stand with children and families by passing the Crime Victims Fund Stabilization Act and strengthening support for these essential services.

You can also participate—raise your voice, share this message, and connect with your elected officials to show your support for protecting victim services and the children who depend on them.
