Whatever can go wrong, will go wrong.... Sincerest apologies to those who turned out for last night's presentation only to be turned away due to technical glitches. And while the show went on via Zoom, to rave reviews, even more glitches resulting in the promised video recording to fail to materialize as well. Our hope is to bring our amazing speaker, AJ Van Slyke, back to Tallahassee for an in-person redo. Love this post if you agree.

In celebration of Archaeology Month, we wanted to share some more interesting artifacts from the Bureau of Archaeological Research.

Florida's Bureau of Archaeological Research curates artifacts from across the state, including many from Fort Brooke. The fort was built in 1824 and was located in what is now downtown Tampa. It was used through the Seminole Wars, as well as the Civil War.

University of South Florida Access 3D Lab’s Alex Fawbush accessed these collections as part of fulfillment of his master’s degree and created 3D models of select objects.
