This year, FSLA, in partnership with the Florida Surplus Lines Service Office (FSLSO), launched the Under 40 Leadership Scholarship to create new opportunities for emerging excess and surplus lines professionals to connect, learn and grow.

Selected for their industry involvement, leadership potential and commitment to professional growth, scholarship recipients received complimentary registration to the 2026 FSLA Annual Convention, with access to educational programming, networking and opportunities to engage directly with industry leaders.

Now that Convention is behind us, we asked a few of this year’s recipients to share what the experience meant to them — and what they’re taking with them as they continue building their careers in E&S. 🥹 ☀️

ICYMI via Business Insurance: “Albert Geraci, a Fort Lauderdale-based broker and (immediate-past) president of the Florida Surplus Lines Association, sees an improved market for buyers. Casualty rates are still high, but some property owners are benefiting from stronger competition in the insurance market, he said. Some insurers are now offering higher limits on assault and battery coverage, for example, while others are removing fi****ms exclusions.”
