From October 9-13, FDA members representing the 17th ADA Delegation attended the American Dental Association’s House of Delegates meeting in Indianapolis.

Throughout the meeting, delegates participated in important discussions, advocated for the dental profession, and helped shape the future of organized dentistry.

A stronger clinical team can do more.

The Restorative Functions for Dental Auxiliaries (RFDA) Program gives qualified dental assistants and dental hygienists a pathway to earn certification in restorative functions under the supervision of a licensed Florida dentist.

The program combines self-paced online instruction with hands-on training in a CODA-accredited lab, followed by knowledge checks and practical evaluations.

Who’s looking out for your practice when payer policies change?

Delta Dental plans to charge contracted dentists $15 each week to receive claim payments by paper check. FDA has made its position clear: this is unacceptable, and organized dentistry is pushing back.

We’ve seen what a collective voice can accomplish. After Aetna moved to change how out-of-network dentists received payments, organized dentistry challenged the policy, and Aetna reversed course.

This is advocacy in action. FDA works to represent Florida dentists, provide support on insurance issues, and advocate on matters affecting the profession.
