🚨 PRIORITY NEEDS BEING REPORTED:

💧 Drinking water
🥫 Emergency food supplies
🍼 Diapers, wipes & infant essentials
🔋 Charging and communication resources
🏠 Roof-tarp assistance and housing recovery referrals
❤️ Support for older adults, medically vulnerable residents, and displaced families

⚠️ Downed trees, power lines, outages, and access limitations may affect deliveries. All reported needs require verification, and response activities must follow appropriate safety guidance.

BIG BEND & FLORIDA PANHANDLE — WE ARE PREPARING TO MEET THE NEED!

As our communities prepare for recovery from Hurricane Isaias, Women Empowering Each Other, Inc. (W.E.E.) is mobilizing humanitarian support for vulnerable families throughout the Big Bend, Florida Panhandle, and neighboring communities.

Yesterday, we proactively provided relief to vulnerable populations in preparation for the storm. Additional donor shipments are on the way, and we are preparing to coordinate resources based on identified needs.

If you or the people you serve need assistance, please reach out. If your organization is supporting storm-affected families, tell us what resources you need and what needs you are seeing in your community. We want to work together to get available resources where they can make a difference.

We’ve been doing disaster response for several years, and we know that when a storm hits, getting resources to people is only part of the work.

It’s about having the right resources, in the right place, at the right time.

This is why W.E.E. do what W.E.E. do. 🩷

When I look back at where we started, I can’t help but think about all the faces, the stories, the mothers, the babies, and the families we’ve had the privilege of serving along the way.

We didn’t always have a lot of space. We didn’t always have all the resources we needed. There were times when we couldn’t physically get into areas because the damage was too severe. But we always found a way to help.

Sometimes that meant providing financial support to women who were able to get directly into the community. Sometimes it meant creating a small space where a mother could feel seen, valued, accommodated, and appreciated. And sometimes it simply meant showing up and saying, “We see you. You matter.”

Today, W.E.E. has served thousands of families throughout the great State of Florida. And honestly, that number means so much more when I think about the individual people behind it.

Every family.
Every mother.
Every child.
Every story.

That’s the reason we keep going.

We still have so many people to reach, and our heart for serving hasn’t changed.

W.E.E. loves serving Florida. 🫶🏾
And as long as there are people who need a helping hand, we’ll keep finding a way to reach them.

These mothers arrived by bus with babies in strollers. 💛

If you ever needed a reason to do your part in the survival and well-being of your children, here it is.

No inconvenience stopped these women from making sure their babies received what they needed. That kind of strength, effort, and determination deserves to be met with support.

Because of that, WEE will do our part to help ensure they do not have to ride the bus to receive services from us for as long as their babies are in diapers. ✨
