💡 Today, we're keeping the lights on for afterschool!

Every day, Boys & Girls Clubs across Florida provide more than a place to go when the school day ends. They're places where young people discover new interests, build lasting friendships, connect with caring mentors, and develop the confidence to pursue their dreams.

This Lights On Afterschool, we're joining communities nationwide to celebrate the programs, people, and opportunities that help young people thrive beyond the classroom.

💡 The countdown to Lights On Afterschool is on!

Next Thursday, October 22, communities across the country will celebrate the programs that help young people learn, grow and thrive beyond the school day.

We're especially excited to see this year's celebration featuring artwork by Zaiden of Hurlburt Field Youth Club in Hurlburt, Florida! 🎨

From creativity and friendship to leadership and belonging, Zaiden's artwork captures so much of what makes afterschool programs special.

We're looking forward to celebrating alongside Boys & Girls Clubs across Florida next week! 💙

During Substance Abuse Prevention Month, we're highlighting the importance of giving young people accurate information, supportive environments, and the confidence to make healthy decisions.

Through The Facts. Your Future., Boys & Girls Clubs across Florida are helping teens better understand the risks associated with substance use, challenge common misconceptions, and build skills that support their well-being.

We're proud to partner with the Florida Department of Children and Families to bring prevention education to young people across the state.

After celebrating a National Youth of the Year from Florida, this feels like the perfect time to answer a question we don't always stop to explain: What is Youth of the Year? 💙

It's much more than an award. The journey gives Club teens opportunities to find their voice, build confidence, strengthen leadership skills and learn to share their stories.

We love how Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County breaks down what makes this program so special — and why every young person who participates has something worth celebrating.

What is Youth of the Year? It's more than an award.

Youth of the Year is the highest honor a Boys & Girls Club member can receive. It celebrates teens who lead with confidence, grow through public speaking and interview skills, and inspire others by sharing their story and representing their Club.

Why does it matter? Every candidate leaves with skills that last long after the final speech. They gain leadership experience, mentorship, and the confidence to own any room they walk into. It's a chance for our teens to be seen and heard and to celebrate who they're becoming. 💙
