“As we approach the start of voting in the Primary, I want to make sure every eligible voter has the key information they need to participate in our elections. This week my office is mailing out over 120,000 Election Ready postcards, one to every residential address in Leon County. I encourage voters to get Election Ready now by registering and checking their information." Supervisor Earley

Throwback Thursday!

“Griper’s Permit” — a League of Women Voters of Tallahassee voter education badge reminding citizens that an informed voter has both the privilege and responsibility to participate in government. This mid-century League artifact reflects a core belief that democracy works best when citizens are informed and engaged. That LWVT work through the 70 years since our formation continues today with a Senior Center Lunch and Learn (10:15 at Lake Jackson Community Center) and two candidate forums!

On June 23 from 1:00-2:00 PM, the League of Women Voters of Tallahassee and the Capital Region News Collaborative will sponsor a candidate forum for the Tallahassee City Commission Seat 4 (Mayor) candidates. The candidates participating are Loranne Ausley, Michael Foust, Jeremy Matlow, and Daryl Parks.

The Mayor of Tallahassee serves as the chair of the City Commission, helps guide city policy discussions, represents the city at official events, and works alongside commissioners to make decisions that impact residents' daily lives. Candidate forums give voters the opportunity to hear directly from candidates, compare their priorities, and make informed decisions before Election Day.

On June 23, the League of Women Voters of Tallahassee and the Capital Region News Collaborative will sponsor a candidate forum for Leon County School Board District 5 candidates. The first LWVT school board candidate forum was on April 7, 1966.

The two candidates in 2026 are Marcus Bernard Nicolas (Incumbent) and James G. Reilly, Jr. (Candidate). There are five members of the school board representing different geographic districts. Each school board member must reside in and be elected from their district. Candidate forums help voters hear directly from candidates, compare their views, and make informed decisions before Election Day.
