Tangerine came to It's Meow or Never as a tiny two week old bottle baby and has faced one challenge after another. She spent her first year battling chronic upper respiratory infections and managing lifelong food allergies. Just as her immune system was finally getting stronger, her foster woke up one morning to find Tangerine running a 106°F fever. She wasn't eating, wasn't acting like herself, and was rushed to the vet, where bloodwork showed the signs of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

After 84 days of treatment, Tangerine beat FIP and is officially cured.

But during her FIP treatment, Tangerine began showing signs of another problem. She was drooling, pawing at her mouth, and clearly experiencing dental pain. She was diagnosed with Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis (FCGS), a severe and extremely painful inflammatory disease that affects the tissues inside the mouth. Eating, grooming, and even opening her mouth can be painful, yet Tangerine continues to be her happy, playful self.

Because cats undergoing FIP treatment cannot undergo surgery, we had to wait until Tangerine was officially cured before treating her mouth. After consultations with multiple veterinarians, a full-mouth extraction is the best option to give her a chance at a pain free life.

This isn't a routine dental. FCGS can cause tooth resorption, making extractions more complicated and time-consuming than a standard dental. Tangerine's surgery is estimated to cost $1,400.

As a rescue, we never want finances to determine whether an animal receives the care they need. Tangerine has already overcome more than any cat should have to, and now she deserves the chance to enjoy the rest of her life without constant pain.

These girls are tough.
About two weeks ago, they both underwent surgery to have an eye removed that caused more stress and pain than they needed. It’s been a journey.

Iggy just had her check up and stitches out today and passed with flying colors!
Now all we have to worry about is fattening up this little girl so she can meet her goal weight to be able to have her spay surgery. Then, hopefully this precious little girl can find her new forever home!

On the other hand, our girl, Clementine, has had a tougher time on her journey.
While waiting for her eye to heal, she had developed an infection in the site that required us to put her on additional meds and vet visits. She had also dealt with fighting irregular blood pressure, which made the eye surgery and her future spay surgery a little bit more difficult.
Needless to say, this sweet girl has had a battle to fight.

As you can see, we have instances where things go as planned, and then others where it may not always go as we had hoped that it would.

Meet Bert and Mert, two adorable twin sisters who are hoping today is the day someone finally notices just how special they are.

These girls are cuddly, sweet, and playful. They love attention, enjoy a good play session, and get along with everyone. Black cats are often overlooked in rescues, but Bert and Mert are proof that there’s nothing unlucky about having a black cat in your life!

Bert & Mert are currently being spoiled in their foster home and are spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Now they just need a family of their own!

Meet Masha! Masha has a soft meow, a playful personality, and so much love to give. She came to IMON with her siblings as a bottle baby, but sadly, she was the only one who survived. Despite everything she’s been through, Masha has grown into a happy, affectionate, and incredibly playful kitten.

She loves chasing toys, wrestling with her kitten friends, and getting into all the typical kitten mischief. When she finally wears herself out, her favorite place is curled up next to you for a nap.

At only 3 months old, Masha has already been returned twice due to no fault of her own. Masha deserves a family who understands that kittens come with energy, curiosity, and a little chaos. She needs someone ready to love her for the next 15–20 years and give her the stability she deserves. She would do great in a multi-cat household.

She’s survived losing her entire litter and two failed adoptions. Now she just needs someone who will make sure she’s finally home.

Found together on a railroad track, Toast and Crepe were in rough shape, both battling severe upper respiratory and eye infections. Sadly, despite medical intervention, each kitten lost one eye.

But these two? They don’t let anything slow them down!

Crepe and Toast are sweet, cuddly, playful, and obsessed with people and other cats. They run, climb, wrestle, chase toys, and get into all the kitten mischief you’d expect. And when the zoomies are over, they’re ready to curl up in their persons lap.

These resilient sisters have been through more than most kittens ever should, and now they’re looking for a loving forever home that will love and protect them.

Both girls are up-to-date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and scheduled for spay next week.
