“WASSSSUPPP EVERYONE!

My name is Parker, and I’m from Las Vegas! I’m currently a senior on the pre-medicine track, aspiring to be a physician. It is sincerely a pleasure to be serving as the treasurer this year, and I look forward to meeting all of you!

I’ve been a part of this organization since the beginning. It’s been fascinating to watch us grow not only as a community but as individuals. The work we do is nothing short of incredible, and I am immensely proud to be involved with such an outstanding movement.

Some of my hobbies include snowboarding, rock climbing, and professional gaming. I enjoy staying active, so if anybody wants to get in a workout sometime, PLEASE let me know! I also dabble in piano and have about 3 songs in the chamber I could unload at all times. Feel free to ask me to play — I’d love an excuse.

If you made it this far into the caption, thank you for reading. I’ll leave you with one piece of advice: life is hard. Like, really hard. But I think the beauty in all of that is that it was never meant to be easy. We all know things can get stressful, but what’s important is honing your ability to bounce back. It’s not always about what takes you down, but whether you can get back up.

A wise man once said, “water your garden and let the butterflies come.” So, water that damn garden. If the butterflies don’t come, you’ll still have a beautiful garden :)”

“Hey, I’m Lily, born and raised in Fort Myers, Florida and I am a Psychology major on a pre-PA track. I have been volunteering with WWPF for about a year and a half and it’s been so fun and rewarding! Currently, I am a medical assistant intern in urgent care.

In my free time I play tennis/pickleball and enjoy being outside. I love music and going to concerts as well as musicals. My other hobbies include boating/beaching, reading, spending time with family and friends, walking, and I love traveling to new places and learning about other cultures.

Who We Play For has brought me so many amazing opportunities and I have met so many inspiring people. It stands for such an important and beautiful cause and for that, I fall more and more in love with this organization everyday. I look forward to seeing to this chapter continue to grow and do amazing things at Florida State and beyond!!❣️❣️

One of the biggest pieces of advice i’ve learned throughout my time here is don’t be afraid to push yourself out of your comfort zone and to do it scared. Don’t let your fear hold you back.“

with our Vice President, Thomas Freeman! 🫀

“Hello everyone!

My name is Thomas. I am the Vice President of Who We Play For at FSU. I am a biochemistry major. My goal after graduation is to attend medical school. I am from Ormond Beach Florida. Some things I do outside of volunteering with WWPF include: research in organic chemistry, working at Halifax ER during summer and winter breaks, volunteering at Kearney center, and working as a teaching assistant. Some of my hobbies include running, fishing, and reading.

I’ve been involved with this club since the beginning. With the help of my brother and a few friends we started the FSU WWPF club. Since then we have grown exponentially and I am forever grateful for this growth. We have screened thousands of kids and potentially saved numerous lives.

One of my biggest pieces of advice for pre health students is to find something that you truly love to do. Many people get stuck in different jobs or roles that they don’t like doing but stay in it because they feel they need to hold these positions for a resume boost. I know from experience this is a terrible tactic and will quickly lead to burn out. Instead try to find things that you are passionate about. If you enjoy doing something then you will likely perform much better. I know it can be very daunting trying to find your niche in such a huge college. Look for your people and the opportunities will present themselves. You are who you surround yourself with. I have surrounded myself with a wonderful group of volunteers at Who We Play For and I feel they have helped me grow into the person I am today.“

with our President, Madison Villafuerte!🫀

“Hi hi everyone!

My name is Madi, I’m from Orlando, and I am so excited to be your president this year! I’m a senior double majoring in Biology and Human Development & Family Science, with minors in Chemistry and Psychology. Post-grad, I’m attending PA school!

Outside of WWPF@FSU, I’m a Dance Marathon delegate, involved in Best Buddies and Pre-PA Society, and do research with WWPF and AdventHealth. I also work as a medical assistant at Allergy & Asthma Diagnostic Treatment Center! In my free time, I love hanging out with my friends and running.

Joining WWPF has truly been the highlight of my college experience. Not only have I met some of my best and most supportive friends through this organization, but it has also been so amazing to see how strong our community has become and how much we all care about preventing sudden cardiac arrest in the youth. When I first joined, we started with only 30 members, so I am incredibly proud of the community we have worked so hard to build. What started as a fun way to gain clinical hours quickly turned into a genuine passion of mine.

Since this is my last year with the FSU chapter, the biggest piece of advice I want to give everyone is to say yes to everything you can confidently handle. Academics are incredibly important, but so are the meaningful experiences, friendships, and memories you make along the way. Get involved, step outside of your comfort zone, and take advantage of the opportunities that come your way. You never know which experience might turn into something you’re truly passionate about!“
