is supporting a multistate lawsuit against the U.S. Department of Education over restrictive federal student loan limits on advanced degrees. This policy is expected to reduce access to critical funding and exacerbate provider shortages. For more details, visit NASW News Releases at socialworkers.org. “We proudly stand with this coalition of states to ensure that dedicated future clinical social workers can afford the education required to provide essential, life-saving mental health care across the nation,” NASW CEO Anthony Estreet, PhD, MBA, LCSW-C, said.

Congratulations to the winners of the NASW-FL Inaugural Student Case Competition!

NASW-FL proudly recognizes Isabella Daniels, Valerie Contreras, Justine Hicks, and Catherine Peralta, along with faculty advisor Dr. Shalay Jackson from the Florida State University School of Social Work!

This year’s competition challenged students to develop a real-world, macro-level initiative focused on nonpartisan voter engagement that NASW-FL could implement leading into the upcoming Mid-Term Election.

Their initiative, “ACT 26,” created a practical plan to engage college-age students, social work internship providers, and community organizations through train-the-trainer programming, voter engagement talking points, and nonpartisan voter registration tools.

We are excited to continue working with this team as NASW-FL begins implementing their innovative plan throughout the summer and fall! 👏🗳️
