CEO Tamayo recently had the opportunity to visit the Miami Beach Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) and Emergency Management team at their Emergency Operations Center!

During the visit, CEO Tamayo met with team members, learned more about their CERT program and saw firsthand the important work they do to strengthen preparedness and resilience throughout Miami Beach. VF Commissioner Ivan Chavez joined her for the visit, and she was honored to be welcomed by Miami Beach Mayor Steven Meiner, who also took time to join the team.

Last week, CEO Tamayo had the honor of surprising Oleg Smirnov, with VF's Excellence in Volunteerism Award during a visit to the South Florida Red Cross!

As a Disaster Services Duty Officer with the American Red Cross, Oleg plays an essential role in helping coordinate emergency response efforts, mobilize volunteers and ensure families receive the support they need during some of their most difficult moments.

In 2026 alone, Oleg has contributed more than 218 volunteer hours, bringing his lifetime service with the American Red Cross to more than 886 hours—all while balancing his professional career and military service.

Oleg’s leadership, compassion and unwavering commitment to serving others reflect the very best of volunteerism and the incredible impact one person can have on a community.

Congratulations, Oleg, and thank you for your extraordinary service to the people of Florida!
