[10/9 6 PM] We're getting new information from the Storm Prediction Center. Our Tornado Watch is scheduled to expire at 9 p.m., but the threat will not be over. The watch will be replaced as severe weather chances continues into the overnight.

⚠️ Isaias is a Category 2 hurricane over the central Gulf and expected to briefly become a major hurricane prior to landfall late Friday into early Saturday morning, leading to severe tropical hazard impacts to the northern Gulf Coast. Further inland, potential for gusty winds, heavy rain and flash flooding remains across the forecast area. Please continue to monitor forecast updates for further details.

Updated clinic hours for TMH in the Calhoun and Bay counties due to Hurricane Isaias.

For the safety of our patients and colleagues, TMH announces the following changes to our clinics as of 2 pm, Oct. 8:

Bay County
TMH Urgent Care (Panama City Beach) – Open until 9 pm (CT) Thursday, closed Friday & Saturday
Cardiology & Pulmonary (Panama City Beach) – Closed the remainder of Thursday, closed Friday
Primary Care (Panama City Beach) – Open until 5 pm (CT) on Thursday, closed Friday

Calhoun County
Primary Care (Blountstown) – Open until 5 pm (CT) on Thursday, closed Friday
Tallahassee Memorial Outpatient Rehabilitation Center (Blountstown) – Open until 4:30 pm (CT) Thursday, closed Friday

We are also monitoring the potential impact of the storm on Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and our other clinics in the region. We will provide additional updates if changes to operations occur.

Leon County Government has some great information on how to effectively fill and place your sandbags.

Hurricane Isaias is expected to bring heavy rains through the weekend. ⛈️

Sandbags can be incredibly helpful in protecting your home as they can divert water under two feet when filled and placed properly.

How to fill and place sandbags:
🔹 Fill bag with sand until half full
🔹 Knot securely once filled
🔹 Stack in a pyramid shape
🔹 Tamp each sandbag into place
🔹 Offset sandbags like bricks to block water
🔹 Lay down a plastic sheet or tarp against the structure before stacking sandbags
