Are you curious about natural burial? The RHCC's Conservation Cemetery Committee Chair, Rose Kelley, was too, and so she took the masterclass on all things natural burial. Rose continues to share her education and wisdom with us through periodic Blog posts - please check them out, along with our most recent Newsletters at: www.RedHillsCommunityCemetery.com/Blog

The next tour of the RHCC cemetery property is scheduled for the morning of Wednesday, June 17! Please join us - signing up in advance is necessary for planning and communication purposes.

The tour is expected to run about 1.5 hours long. We strongly recommend bringing Insect repellant and Water! 8:45 am - meet for carpool, 9:30 meet at the site!

Please note: We do not yet have a cleared tour route, and though the understory vegetation on the property is not very dense, please prepare for some uneven terrain and bushwhacking.

The canopy within the RHCC is as diverse as it is awe-inspiring. As we move forward with our Natural Features Inventory as part of the land preparation process, the stunning ecosystem of the property will continue to be unveiled.

It has been a while - and the RHCC has been busy!
Though the initially intended site for the RHCC became unavailable, after lots of hard work from an amazing group of volunteers and members, in March we were able to purchase a beautiful 40.5 acre alternative property, and the RHCC found it's forever home in Leon County, FL!
Bordered by state forests, Lake Talquin, and a steephead ravine, this woodland ecosystem is ideal for natural burial, and land preparation has begun! If you'd like to take a tour of the property, visit our website www.redhillscommunitycemetery.com and sign up for the tour list! Work is underway developing the complex administrative infrastructure needed for the cemetery, which will be open for burials mid-2027.
The vision of the foundational members made it possible to purchase the site and has provided key funding for start-up costs. Growing with new memberships are an integral part of our next phase.
Become a member and make your plan so that when your loved ones come to visit your gravesite, they are visiting a forest and an ecosystem which you helped to protect. 🌳
