This move-out season at Florida State University, the Chuck It For Charity program kept an incredible 25,852.9 pounds (12.93 tons!) of usable items out of the landfill. From furniture and clothing to everyday essentials, these donations were sorted and redirected to support local organizations and community needs.

These numbers represent thousands of items given a second life—and a campus community coming together to make sustainability real during one of the busiest times of the year. Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make this impact possible ♻️💚

End of year Food Recovery Network stats!

As another academic year wraps up at FSU, the Food Recovery Network (FRN) is reflecting on a powerful impact made across campus—recovering surplus food and redirecting it to those who can use it most instead of sending it to the landfill.

Every pickup, every meal saved, and every volunteer hour adds up to less waste and more support for our community 💚

Green Tip of the Month 🌿

In celebration of International Day for Biological Diversity, this month’s green tips are all about protecting and supporting the ecosystems around us!

Healthy ecosystems depend on the diversity of plants, animals, and organisms that make our world thrive — and everyone can play a part in protecting them.

Did you know FSU has its very own organic garden?

Tucked beside the FSU Flying High Circus, the Seminole Organic Garden is a hidden gem on campus where students grow fresh produce, care for pollinator-friendly plants, and learn about sustainability through hands-on experience.

The garden is open to students who want to volunteer, learn new skills, spend time outdoors, or simply get involved with Sustainable Campus. No experience needed — just a willingness to dig in!

🌱 Stay tuned for garden workday hours!
