Director Jenn Faber had an eventful weekend in Pensacola, presenting 'Promising Literacy Practices' at a 3-hour training hosted by the Escambia Children's Trust, as well as exhibiting/presenting at the Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County Conference. Thanks to all the local Escambia providers who attended these sessions!

The All Families Reading Challenge is a month-long campaign running throughout September in honor of UNESCO’s International Literacy Day (September 8). Families can access Worldreader’s entire library on the free BookSmart app with no paywalls, ads, or hidden subscriptions and read curated children’s books and guided activities in English, French, and Spanish, at no cost.

The Challenge launches today, September 2, with a global virtual event co-hosted by Worldreader, the Early Childhood Development Action Network - ECDAN, and the Bezos Family Foundation. Throughout the month, participating families are encouraged to read ten children’s books, complete five Brain Building Moments through Vroom Tips, and build a daily reading routine with their children.

The Florida Grade-Level Reading Campaign is proud to announce the launch of our brand new Attendance & Chronic Absence Toolkit! Across Florida, educators, families, and community partners are working to help more students get to school consistently and stay engaged in learning.

Now, we’re bringing resources to support that work together in one place.

The new FGLRC Attendance & Chronic Absence Toolkit includes Florida-specific data and research, promising practices from communities across the state, ready-to-use tools, intervention strategies, and resources from leading state and national partners.

And it’s built to grow as we continue learning what works.

Dolly Parton created the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library as a way to honor her father. "He was the smartest man I have ever known but I know in my heart his inability to read probably kept him from fulfilling all of his dreams."

Dolly knew the importance of not just learning how to read, but learning to love reading. The Imagination Library has shared over 330,000,000 books to over 3 million children around the world. Her impact on the world of literacy will be long lasting. From the Panhandle to the Keys, Florida has Imagination Library partnerships in 34 counties.

Dolly, thank you for all that you have done to give millions of children and families the gift that will last a lifetime. We will always love you. 🦋💖

Children’s cups are filled to the degree their caregivers’ cup is overflowing. Early educators deserve to be well—not just for the sake of the children they teach, but because their emotional well-being matters too.

In a field where stress and burnout are common, Be Well. Care Well. focuses on building resilience through practical, supportive wellness practices that help educators feel seen, supported, and sustained in their work. With 97% of participants reporting improved well-being, the Be Well Care Well model shows that caring for the workforce transforms both educator wellness and the quality of adult–child interactions. Join us to explore a model that honors both.

Following this presentation, our discussion will shift to how we are addressing our children's well-being and health. Local Bright Spots and resources will be shared!
