The Arc of Florida The Arc of Florida is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Arc of Florida works with local, state and national partners and advocates for people with intellectual disabilities, autism, spina bifida, cerebral palsy (CP), prader-willi syndrome and other developmental disabilities to be fully included in all aspects of their community. We also work to reduce the incidence of and eliminate the consequences of developmental disabilities through education, awareness, research, advocacy and support of families, friends and the community.

The countdown is already on: less than 150 days until Florida's Legislative Session begins! We're rallying all members and advocates to join us in sharing our legislative priorities with candidates and elected officials to help ensure the needs of individuals with IDD and their families remain a top priority during the 2027 session.

The Arc of Florida Board of Directors approved the 2027 Legislative Agenda, which prioritizes Provider Rate Adjustments, Standardized Transportation Rate Methodology, Managed Care Safeguards for Individuals with IDD, and Housing Choice and Supported Living Services.

We're still overwhelmed by the passion of our 500+ conference attendees who joined us for our annual Advocacy Days at Disney last week! We're especially grateful to our Direct Service Professionals throughout the state who dedicate their days to helping individuals with IDD live with dignity, support and inclusion. We loved surprising them with gift cards during our conference to recognize their service!

We had an amazing time with 500+ advocates and self-advocates, members, families, and clients during our 4th annual Advocacy Days at Disney! With inspirational keynote sessions, thought-provoking workshops, co****le, dancing, photo ops and special guests, it was a weekend to remember. We were thrilled to have Bob Asztalos, Director of the APD Florida (Agency for Persons with Disabilities) join us, too!

We'll continue to build upon the momentum, dedication and determination to advocate for all individuals with IDD to receive services and support to be fully included in all aspects of their communities.

You don't want to miss this landmark forum! Focusing entirely on critical disability policy issues affecting Florida residents, this event brings together voters, community leaders, and candidates seeking public office.

With heightened state and national attention on Medicaid funding, the upcoming Affordable Care Act (ACA) open enrollment period this fall, and ongoing conversations surrounding the federal Olmstead mandate for community integration, the forum aims to foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented conversation between policymakers and the disability community.
