🩸 DID YOU KNOW?

Sickle cell disease is an inherited blood disorder that affects red blood cells. Instead of remaining round and flexible, some red blood cells can become hard, sticky, and shaped like a crescent or "sickle."
These cells can have difficulty moving through small blood vessels, which can contribute to pain and other serious health complications.
That's one reason awareness matters.
When you participate in our 5K, you're doing more than crossing a finish line you're helping us bring greater visibility to sickle cell disease and the individuals and families impacted by it.
