On June 6th, Florida PBA Senior Vice President & Southwest Florida Chapter President Mick McHale was inducted into the Florida Law Enforcement Officers' Hall of Fame — and we couldn't be more proud. 👏 🏆

From his nearly 27 years with the Sarasota Police Department to his tireless advocacy in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C., Mick has spent his career fighting for the men and women of law enforcement and continues to do so. His name is now permanently affixed on the Hall of Fame plaque at the Florida Capitol — exactly where it belongs. Well deserved, Mick! 💙🎉

🚨 COLA RETURNS — 15 years in the making! 🚨

Since 2011, the Florida PBA has never stopped pushing for the restoration of COLA for our Special Risk Class members. Florida lawmakers have now passed it — and if signed into law, it's a meaningful step forward for the retirement security of every law enforcement officer, correctional officer, and correctional probation officer we represent.

🕯💙 The Palm Beach PBA mourns the loss of PBSO - Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office Corporal Ray Ruby. A dedicated law enforcement officer, mentor, K9 handler, trainer, and brother who devoted more than four decades to protecting and serving our community.

Corporal Ruby’s impact reached far beyond the badge. His leadership, courage, and commitment to making others safer leave a legacy that will never be forgotten.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Ruby family, his friends, and all who had the honor of serving beside him.

Rest easy, brother. We have the watch from here. 💙🕯

We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of K-9 Drax of Bradenton Police Department

K-9 Drax served alongside his partner and best friend, Officer Brandon Smolarz, from 2019 until 2024 — he served the community with fearless dedication. After a brave fight against an aggressive form of cancer, Drax was laid to rest with Officer Smolarz by his side.

We extend our deepest condolences to Officer Smolarz, the Bradenton Police Department, and all who knew and loved K-9 Drax. 💙🐾

"We owe this freedom of choice and action to those men and women in uniform who have served this nation and its interests in time of need. In particular, we are forever indebted to those who have given their lives that we might be free." – Ronald Reagan

Today, the Florida PBA pauses to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our freedom. Today and every day, we hold them close in our hearts and remain humbled by their service. 🇺🇸
