To our Sponsors and TLBR Alumni Membership:
It was a great year for the TLBR Alumni Foundation, and I want to reach out to thank you for your support. We recently held our annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which included our fundraiser golf scramble and banquet to honor our newest class of inductees. It was a great event held for the 2nd year at the Golden Eagle Country Club. Again this year, the venue was exceptional and the staff were very helpful. So much goes into this event, and I want to congratulate and thank our Board for their tireless efforts. From soliciting sponsors and golfers, to organizing the HOF nomination and voting, to the logistics of planning the event, and the staffing on the day, it was truly a team effort.
One of the purposes for the money that is raised at this event is our scholarship program. Since the Scholarship for Excellence program began in 2020, we have awarded $43,500 to 43 former players. The 2025 winners were Cole Annin, Mason Avant, Brennan Baisden, Tyler Correa, Nate Dietz, Robert Steele, Caleb Walsh, and TJ Harley, who joined us at the banquet to tell the audience about the impact of the scholarship.
In addition to TJ’s speech, there were several highlights at the banquet. Of course, we honored the 3 newest inductees to our Hall of Fame. Congratulations to our 2025 class - Aaron Clark, Brannon Snead, and Bruce Williams! Each deserving inductee was introduced and delivered a very impactful acceptance speech.
It was fitting that Bruce Williams was inducted this year because his 14u team, along with the 13u team, were honored at the banquet for winning the Babe Ruth World Series. These are the 7th and 8th championships in the history of Tallahassee Babe Ruth baseball. Thanks to the players and their families for attending the event and celebrating this awesome accomplishment with us.
Also at the event, there were announcements of several scholarships
• TLBR Alumni Foundation invested $10,000 in an endowed scholarship at Tallahassee State College. This investment will grow and fund scholarships for our selected former players in perpetuity.
• We received direct donations to fund named scholarships from the following: The Browning Family, Meredith Family, Cruse Family, Sweeney Family, and Englert Family. These donations will ensure that our scholarship program will be healthy and will continue to grow.
Contact us if you would like more information in sponsoring a named scholarship. These donations, along with all direct sponsorships and your generous donations, are tax deductible and are used to support our mission. More information is available on our website.
