Florida Deputies Helping Florida Deputies!

Within 24 hours of the hurricane, the Florida Deputy Sheriffs Association (FDSA) was in Okaloosa County delivering Lend A Hand financial assistance to two deputies whose homes were damaged.

Thank you to Sheriff Eric Aden, Sheriff Billy Woods, and FDSA’s Lisa Miller for making it happen.

When disaster strikes, FDSA answers the call.

Help us support Florida deputies affected by the hurricane.

40 episodes of conversations that matter.

Since launching A Tactical Pause, we’ve had the opportunity to hear from leaders, officers and first responders who have shared the experiences, challenges and lessons that have shaped their careers.

Every guest has brought a different perspective, but together, these conversations reflect the people behind the badge and the work they do every day to serve their communities.

Thank you to the 40 guests who have helped make these conversations possible and to everyone who listens, shares and keeps the conversation going.

The conversation continues, and we’re just getting started.

Tragic news from our friends at the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, Florida (Official). Are thoughts and prayers are with Agent Morris’s family, friends, coworkers and those he served. 💙

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office is deeply saddened to report that one of our deputies has died in the line of duty after being involved in a traffic crash early this morning. Homicide Agent Kevin Morris died after his vehicle was struck by another vehicle that was travelling the wrong way on Interstate 95 in Titusville.

Agent Morris was hired as a Deputy with the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office on February 2, 2021, and has served with the agency for over 5 years. He formerly served with the Palm Bay Police Department from 2001-2012. During his years of service, Kevin has received numerous letters of commendation, commendable service awards, and a Life Saving Award.

The investigation of this accident is being conducted by the Florida Highway Patrol. For further information in reference to the accident investigation please contact Lieutenant Tara Crescenzi of the Florida Highway Patrol.

Updated information concerning the arrangements will be provided when available.

WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY | OCTOBER 10
On World Mental Health Day, we want to remind every deputy, first responder, and family member that asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of strength.

At the Florida Deputy Sheriffs Association, we’re committed to serving those who serve. That’s why we’ve partnered with trusted organizations to provide access to confidential support, trauma resources, and long-term care.

You are not alone. Your mental health matters, and so do you.

Policing a community and being part of one are two very different things.

Putnam County Sheriff Gator DeLoach has built his agency around that distinction. In our latest podcast, he joins host John Creamer to talk about why the relationships deputies build with the people they serve are the foundation of everything else, and what it looks like to lead an agency with that philosophy at its core.

The most effective law enforcement officers aren't always the most knowledgeable ones. They're the ones people trust.

In our latest podcast, Putnam County Sheriff Gator DeLoach shares the leadership philosophy he's built his entire career on and why the relationships deputies build inside their communities matter just as much as anything they learn on the job.
