Our 2026 Youth of the Year, Laterricka H., proudly represented Tallahassee at the Florida Youth of the Year competition in Clearwater, FL, and she did so with grace, confidence, and excellence. We couldn’t be more proud of the way she showcased her leadership, poise, and character on a statewide stage.

Laterricka, your future is incredibly bright, and we’re excited to watch all that you will accomplish!

Shoutout to all of the outstanding candidates, Florida is truly filled with rising stars. And congratulations to Enrique from Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie for earning the opportunity to represent Florida at the regional competition. We’re cheering you on!

Throughout Women’s History Month, we honored the strength, brilliance, and resilience of the women who inspire our future leaders every day. We also proudly culminated our Smart Girls program—empowering our young ladies with confidence, leadership, and a strong sense of identity.

Our members in Havana were tasked with creating a "Marble Fun Run” design on paper & collaborated together to bring their designs to life. They started with two rough draft designs (as seen in the group photos) & used those rough drafts to create a big Marble Run Design. This project taught the students the physics concepts like gravity & kinetic energy. Members also exercised the basic skills of engineering design, problem-solving, & math skills.

Big news for the youth of Leon County! 🎉

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Children’s Services Council of Leon County for their incredible $2.69 million investment in youth-serving organizations across our community. This commitment represents more than funding, it represents opportunity, hope, and brighter futures for the young people we serve.

At Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Bend, we witness firsthand how transformative these resources are. Because of partners like CSC Leon, our youth have access to safe spaces, supportive mentors, and life-changing programs that empower them to dream bigger and achieve more.

Thank you for believing in our mission and in the limitless potential of the youth in our community. Together, we are making a lasting impact and ensuring that Great Futures Start Here.

The Leon County Children's Services Council approved $2.69 million for 13 youth programs, including year-round and summer options.

February was full of unforgettable moments at the Boys & Girls Club! 🖤✨
Our members celebrated Black History Month by learning, honoring, and uplifting the voices and achievements that continue to shape our future. We also had the amazing opportunity to visit the Capitol for Boys & Girls Club Day, where our youth experienced leadership and civic engagement up close.
The excitement continued during Children’s Week at the Capitol, where our members represented the power and potential of young people in our community. And of course, we spread the love by celebrating Valentine’s Day with fun activities, friendship, and lots of smiles! ❤️
Thank you to everyone who continues to support and inspire our youth. We’re excited for everything the months ahead will bring! 💙
