is a non-profit organization serving the needs of hundreds of children and teenagers in Leon and Gadsden counties after school and all day during the summer. We depend on the generosity of local residents and private businesses that care about children living in the Big Bend. Through their donations of time, talent and treasure, they provide the resources that enable us to change young lives and provide hope for a bright future.

Our students have many talents! Today, members from our FAMU DRS Club were awarded first, second and third place in the Charlie Ward Family Foundation’s annual student design contest! This year’s theme is Faith Breaks Ground: From Prayer to Pavement. The winners, along with the other contestants, will have their artwork displayed throughout the Championship Breakfast event in October. The winners will also have a seat at the table for the event, and Azaria is going home with a new iPad as well! The artwork is truly inspiring. Congratulations to our winners!

🎾 How cool! Our Springfield Club now has a tennis club thanks to ACE Up Tennis! The kids learned the fundamentals of playing tennis and they’ll have weekly lessons to sharpen their skills! Autumn from ACE Up Tennis is 16 years old and wanted to start this program to make the sport of tennis more accessible for kids! Many of our members today said they hadn’t played before, but now they’re looking forward to next week’s tennis lesson!

📚 Did you know *95% of our seniors graduated high school and are in college, the military, or pursuing a skilled trade? Additionally, 94% of our members were promoted to the next grade level! The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Bend is a balance between fun, learning, growth, and development. We are so proud of our members and our staff for being the reason why Great Futures Start Here!

Seeing the impact our organization has on hundreds of kids is why we show up every day. That impact wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for community partners like the Children's Services Council of Leon County. Because of their investment in the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Bend, we’re able to keep seeing these smiling faces each day. More importantly, we’re able to help our members reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

Our teens opened their own store, The Miccosukee Snack Shack, with the help of a $1,000 investment from Tallahassee National Bank. We are grateful to all of our community partners for continuously pouring into our members.

🛍️ $100 shopping spree! Thanks to for gifting some of our members with new clothes and shoes for the new school year! Each person had $100 to spend and they all picked out what they wanted. We are so grateful to Kohl’s for continuously supporting our members!

Mic’d up with Richard Curry! When he came to visit, our members were able to lead him on tours of their Clubs. They also shared what they love about the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Big Bend. When asked “What would you change about your Club?” One member responded and said “Nothing.” He loves the Club just the way it is.
We truly had a great time hosting Richard, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America Director of Organizational Development for the southeast region!
