Mother Nature has decided to make an appearance at our first Run for the Buckle Series show, and unfortunately, she's bringing some weather we didn't order!

🌧️ SATURDAY'S SPEED SHOW IS CANCELED

With the threat of severe weather this weekend, the LCHA Board has made the decision to cancel our October 10 show. We're disappointed, but our first priority is making sure everyone, including our four-legged friends, stays safe and prepared!

Now for a couple of updates:

🌳 BONUS WORKDAY – NOVEMBER 1 AT 10 AM (Yes, Sunday)

We're planning a bonus workday to clean up all the "bonus" tree limbs Mother Nature is likely to leave behind. We figured we might as well put them on the calendar now! If you're short on workdays for buckle eligibility, here's a gift for you.

💰 $200 ADDED TO OUR NOVEMBER 7 JACKPOT!

We're adding $200 to the jackpot at our next show as a little peace offering to Mother Nature. We're hoping she'll reward us with sunshine and perfect weather!

We'll be updating the series eligibility requirements, website, and Facebook, and getting online registration open as soon as possible.

But first, we're going to hunker down and keep an eye on the weather. Stay safe, everyone! And don't forget to stock up on hurricane snacks. They're an essential part of storm preparation!

We’re looking forward to having everyone back at LCHA for our Run for the Buckle Series this fall! Our three speed shows are October 10, November 7, and December 12, where LCHA members earn points toward buckle awards in the Buckaroo, Youth, Junior, and Senior divisions.

Exhibition - 10:00 a.m.
Jackpot - 11:30 a.m. (entries close at 11:15 a.m.)
Club Classes will follow jackpot.
70/30 jackpot split.
$5 grounds fee for all horses.

We’ll also have exhibitions and an Open Barrel Jackpot at each show, so you’re welcome to come get some practice or enter the jackpot even if you aren’t competing in the club classes.

Everyone is welcome to show, whether you’re an LCHA member or not. For those interested in qualifying for series awards, here’s what you need:

• A current LCHA membership, with dues paid before meeting attendance and points count.
• Attendance at two LCHA membership meetings during 2026.
• Participation in two club workdays.
• Participation in at least two of the three shows.
• Entry in every class within your division at each show to earn series points.

There’s also a $60 buy-out option for the meeting and workday requirements. You’ll need to select that option and pay before the October 10 show begins. Membership and all show participation requirements still apply.

Well, Mother Nature had other plans for our Test Drive tonight... but we are still on for tomorrow morning's workday at the arena! We'll see you at 8:00 a.m. (or whenever you can make it in the morning).

Final call for participants in this fun schooling event tomorrow night! Registrations AND payment must be received by end of day today for you to participate. No on-site registrations will be taken. The arena has been prepped and it looking awesome--we just need you to come test things out!

Leon County Horsemen's Association is excited to kick off our first-ever Run for the Buckle Series with three shows this fall. Save the dates and make plans to join us and spend the day with good horses and good people.
