What’s the best way to find out if everything works? Add horses. 😁

Before our Run for the Buckle Series kicks off in October, we want to give all of the pieces we’ve been updating and upgrading a good test—the timer, software, lights, sprinklers, arena setup, and more.

Join us September 11 for a low-key night of barrel racing and help us put everything through a full test run. Runs will be timed, but this is not a jackpot event.

Flat $15 fee. Limited to 15 entries.

Registration and pre-payment are required:

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to the 7 LCHA members who came out for our workday this morning!

Thanks to a lot of hard work we:

• Trimmed back the scary, horse-eating fern that was creeping toward the arena rail.
• Repaired the broken posts and boards in the warm-up arena.
• Cleared behind the warm-up arena so trailers will be able to make a complete loop around the property, which should make parking and traffic flow much easier.
• Prepped the arenas with w**d killer so they’ll be ready to be re-tilled in a couple of weeks.

The grounds are looking GREAT, and we’re getting very close to being ready for the 2026 Run for the Buckle Series!

A huge thank you to everyone who gave up part of their Saturday morning to help take care of our club grounds. We got a whole lot accomplished!

Reminder that our LCHA workday is tomorrow morning!

We’ll meet at the LCHA Clubhouse at 7:00 a.m. so we can get an early start and beat some of the heat. We know 7:00 a.m. isn’t exactly convenient when horses are waiting for breakfast and morning chores still have to happen. Come as soon as you’re able. The earlier we get started, the earlier we’ll all get back home!

LCHA WORKDAY THIS SATURDAY! 🐴

Join us Saturday, August 8, from 7:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. as we tackle a few projects and get the grounds ready for fall.

We’ll be repairing arena boards, trimming and clearing limbs, filling holes, marking barrel locations, testing the speed timers, securing sprinkler heads, and cleaning up the grounds for mowing.

There’s plenty to do, so we’d love to have some extra hands!

Don’t forget, workday participation counts toward eligibility for our 2026 LCHA Buckle Series.

Bring your gloves, any helpful tools, and come lend a hand!

Here's a great chance to get some of your photos from our April show!

LCHA has a lot going on this fall!

After a quiet couple of years, we’ve been working this year to get the club active again, rebuild our show schedule, and give members more opportunities to get involved. We’re making progress, and we’re looking forward to a busy few months.

First, we have a new website! Visit www.showlcha.org for show information, membership applications, meeting and workday dates, buckle series rules, sponsorship information, and other LCHA updates.

Our Run for the Buckle Speed Series is coming up October 10, November 7, and December 12. We’ll award championship buckles in Buckaroo, Youth, Junior, and Senior divisions. Each show will also start with an Open Barrel Jackpot with added money. The jackpot is open to everyone and is separate from the buckle series. Full details about the series is posted at www.showlcha.org/shows

Members planning to compete for a buckle should take a look at the eligibility requirements now. Meeting and workday participation is part of the requirement, and we have several opportunities coming up:

📅 Membership Meetings
August 12 • September 9 • October 7 • November 4
All begin at 6:00 p.m., with an option to attend virtually. The Board meets 30 minutes prior.

🔨 Workdays
August 8 • September 12 • October 3 • December 5
Hours vary per each worday, and are posted at www.showlcha.org

We’re also looking for businesses and individuals interested in supporting LCHA. Club Sponsorships are $250 through the end of 2027, and Run for the Buckle sponsorships are $100 per buckle. Details are posted at www.showlcha.org/support-lcha

There’s plenty more information at www.showlcha.org, so take a look around, save the dates, and come join us this fall. We’d love to see some familiar faces and plenty of new ones, too!

Summer is in full swing, and while many of us are trying to stay cool, there's plenty happening behind the scenes at LCHA as we gear up for an exciting fall season. From planning our Run for the Buckle Series to upcoming meetings and projects around the grounds, we're looking forward to a busy few months ahead. Here's the latest from LCHA:

• June 27 Workday – Postponed

Due to a few scheduling conflicts with our volunteers, along with the ongoing stretch of summer heat, we've decided to postpone this weekend's workday. We appreciate everyone's willingness to help and will announce a new date soon. Keep an eye on your email, the LCHA website, and our page for updates.

• July Membership & Board Meeting - Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 6:00 p.m. at the LCHA Clubhouse

All LCHA members are encouraged to attend, either in person or virtually. We'll be discussing upcoming events, facility plans, fall show preparations, membership initiatives, and several projects currently in the works. If you'd like to participate virtually, simply reply to this email and we'll send you the connection information.
**A little teaser: if you're planning to compete for one of the buckles in our upcoming Run for the Buckle Series, meeting attendance will play a role in eligibility. We're still finalizing the details, but attendance at any 2026 meeting will count. Now is a great time to start checking that box.

• Run for the Buckle Series Dates Announced

The dates are set, and we're excited to officially announce LCHA's 2026 Run for the Buckle Series:

October 10
November 7
December 12

We're putting together a fun, competitive series with year-end buckle awards, special recognition opportunities, and a few surprises along the way. Additional information, including qualification requirements, divisions, classes, and awards, will be released in the coming weeks.

Interested in becoming a buckle sponsor? We're creating a sponsorship opportunity for businesses, farms, and individuals who would like to support the series and have their name associated with one of the championship buckles awarded this fall. If you'd like information on sponsorship opportunities, reply to this email and we'll send details as soon as they're available.

Thank you for being part of LCHA. We hope you're enjoying your summer, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the clubhouse and in the arena soon!
