This Down Syndrome Awareness Month, we’re celebrating Jeremiah Daniels, a young actor, advocate who is showing the world what’s possible when people are given opportunities to shine!

Jeremiah stars in the award-winning film Color Book, and recently had his photo featured on a Times Square billboard as part of the National Down Syndrome Society’s annual presentation.

His message is simple but powerful: "People with Down syndrome belong in all spaces." 💙💛

Let’s celebrate representation and the incredible talents and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome—not just this month, but all year long!

💻 Assistive Technology + Vocational Rehabilitation

Did you know that Florida Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) can help eligible Floridians with disabilities access assistive technology that supports their employment goals?

Assistive technology can help people communicate, access computers, manage tasks, perform job duties, and work more independently.

Depending on an individual’s needs and employment plan, VR services can include assistive technology and devices, job-site assessments and accommodations, training, and other employment supports. Learn more at rehabworks.org

At FAAST, we can help Floridians explore and try different AT options to find what works best for them.

The right technology can open the door to greater independence and employment!

One of our favorite adventures this year was taking the FAAST Lending Library handcycles to Lighthouse Big Bend to allow summer campers the opportunity to ride! Our executive Director, Eric Reed had a blast helping the kids learn to use the cycles.

Be sure to checkout Lighthouse BigBend's page to check out all the services they offer to the blind and low vision community!

Every device can change a life.

Assistive technology can mean a child communicating for the first time, a veteran regaining independence, a student accessing education, or a person returning to work.

Access matters. Awareness matters. Policy matters. And real impact starts with support. Support that lasts not just on AT Awareness Day, but every day!

Learn more. Share resources. Attend an event. Help power possibility, one device at a time.
Give today. Make access possible.

Through hands-on device demonstrations, short-term device loans, personalized training, and support, FAAST helps individuals and families explore options and find the right fit.

FAAST is also expanding smart home demo spaces in Largo and Miami, along with virtual tours and take-home demo kits so more people can learn what is possible.
