All the campers did a wonderful job with their sewing projects this week during novice sewing camp. For many, it was their first time sewing. Looking forward to the advance sewing camp tomorrow! Both camps are made possible through our partnership with American Sewing Guild-Tallahassee Chapter and we want to say thank you to our sewing volunteers!

On Saturday, April 23, twelve students from six counties in the Big Bend Region competed at the District 4-H Public Speaking Contest. This contest was held at the UF/IFAS Wakulla County Extension Office in Crawfordville. Two separate contests were held that day: 4th/5th Grade Division and 6th Grade Division.

Leon County students won first place in both contests!

Congrats to Kinsley and Ian! Kinsley won first place in the 4th/5th Grade Division with her speech "If I were Principal" and Ian won first place in the 6th Grade Division with his speech "Monsters".

Thanks to Florida Power & Light for their partnership with our Florida 4-H Public Speaking Program. Their support helps spark interests in our youth and empowers them to share their ideas with their communities.
