October 1998 a member of now Maximum Velocity Motorcycle Club approached Florida A&M University about riding in their 1998 homecoming parade. The coordinator of the parade said there needed to be a certain number of motorcycles to enter the event. This member, with the help of another would be member, took it upon himself to contact over thirty possible riders in the gala. On the day of the parade
ten bikers showed up and our first club name was formed, “SPEED LIMIT.” After the parade those ten bikers decided to instill in them a dedication to riding a brotherhood for one another, community service for people and or any other positive organization in the community. Also to show a positive out look towards bikers or would be bikers of Tallahassee Florida and surrounding areas. At our very next meeting a President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary was elected along with our current club name ‘Maximum Velocity Motorcycle Club. We participate in different motorcycle events year round such as, The Daytona Bike Week, Road Atlanta, Black Bike Weekend Myrtle Beach S.C. and National Bikers Roundup to name a few. We continue to support motorcycle clubs locally and abroad. Our club also donates funds to charity as well as manpower to the people in our community. Simply put, we’re here to stay.
