This article from HealthyChildren.org offers guidance on how to start that conversation and other helpful resources: https://www.healthychildren.org/English/safety-prevention/at-play/Pages/Is-There-A-Gun-Where-Your-Child-Plays-Asking-Can-Save-Lives.aspx

Today marks the 12th annual National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Every day in the U.S., 125 people are shot and killed, and hundreds more are wounded or traumatized.

This Weekend (June 5–7), we honor survivors, remember those lost, and stand with communities working to end gun violence. As pediatric advocates, we remain committed to creating safer environments where every child can grow up healthy and free from violence.
