The Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) is a statewide organization of more than 1,000 public relations professionals dedicated to advancing the profession of public relations and enhancing the professional development of its members. The Capital Chapter of FPRA boasts a 100+ strong membership representing nearly every industry in the area, including government, associations, non-profit, education, healthcare, legal, corporate, retail, agencies and small business. Our chapter includes all levels of professional communicators, from students and new graduates to seasoned professionals. This strong network comes together for support and education through monthly membership meetings, professional development seminars and special events. We are committed not only to the betterment of our profession and ourselves, but also to our community. In addition to professional development opportunities, we lend our expertise to a number of community service projects throughout the year. Congratulations to FPRA Capital Chapter Members Terrie Ard, APR, CPRC, and Kelli Gemmer Roerk on being recognized by the News Service of Florida as 2026 Above and Beyond recipients!

Terrie is Partner, President, and COO of The Moore Agency and a Past President of the FPRA Capital Chapter (2008-2009).

Kelli is the Director of Communications at the Florida League of Cities, Inc. and currently serves on the FPRA Capital Chapter Board as Director of Communications.

Steve Murray, Communications and External Affairs Director for The Florida Department of Veterans' Affairs and FPRA Capital Chapter Director of Awards and Recognition, was invited by The University of Southern Mississippi to address students and faculty at their 100-Year Anniversary of Student Media.

Steve was the department’s outstanding graduate in the Class of 1985 and was inducted into the USM School of Media and Communication Hall of Fame in 2009.
