About Capital City Woman’s Club (CCWC)
CCWC is a member club of the Florida Federation of Woman’s Clubs (FFWC) and the General Federation of Woman’s Clubs (GFWC). The Mission Statement is “Women working together to make a difference in our community and the world”. The purpose of CCWC is to identify community needs and implement projects that will address those needs. CCWC’s projects are selecte
d by members and generally focus on the six GFWC areas: Conservation, Home Life, Education, Arts, Public Issues and International Outreach. CCWC meets on the second Monday night of the month, September through May. Informal meetings are held during the summer. Club year dinner meetings are held at Hotel Duval ($22 for meal) and start at 6:00pm. Club dues are $55 per year. For information contact [email protected]
GFWC Capital City Woman’s Club History
The GFWC Capital City Woman’s Club (CCWC) was federated in 1993 with a membership of 12 women. The organization is made up of working women who wanted to volunteer to make a difference in the community. In the years since 1993, the organization has worked with the Tallahassee Museum of History and Natural Science (a.k.a. The Junior Museum), Lemoyne, Bethany House, Brehon Institute, Emergency Care and Help Organization (ECHO), Refuge House, Ronald McDonald House. Lighthouse of the Big Bend, and many other organizations in our community. The 2016-2018 community service spotlight project is Wisdom’s Wellspring.
