Thanks to WCTV.tv for covering the conclusion of our amazing project at Bond Elementary School. Students planted their own microgreens from Legacy Greens and then got to eat them in a delicious wrap! Sunrise has been investing in our partnership with Bond since 2019 and has secured more than $60,000 in grants for the school.

Special thanks to Sunriser Melanie Quinton for making it all happen!

The vegetables were grown in plastic containers, and the students were responsible for maintaining them during the past week.

Great showing for Sunrise Rotary

August was quite a month of programs for Sunrise Rotary! We started with Shonda Knight with the Leon County Sheriff's Office talking about their Foundation, then Calla MacNamara from WFSU Public Media discussed the impact they have on our community. Then the focus shifted to football with Club President Bob Gosselin updating us on new rules for the upcoming season followed by Warchant's Jeff Cameron giving us his thoughts on FSU football.

This morning at Sunrise… Bob Knight, our resident historian and Florida history expert, shared the true story of our state’s discovery and settling by the Spanish - 50 years before the British arrived!

Recently at Sunrise... We heard from HCA Florida Capital Hospital CEO Dale Neeley, who returned to Tallahassee after serving as the hospital's COO from 2007-2012. Also, Club President Bob Gosselin presented Immediate Past President Brett Wellman the theme flag from his year. Thanks again, Brett, for your excellent leadership and commitment to all things Sunrise!

What a wonderful evening as we welcomed in a new Sunrise leadership year, honored award winners and thanked our major donors. Regular meetings resume next Tuesday morning at 7:30.

This week at Sunrise, we heard from Al Williams, public relations and outreach coordinator at Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition. Al also shared about C4 Outreach, through which he launched the local Juneteenth Empowerment Festival five years ago.
