Join us tonight, 🗓️ Monday October 5th at 7:00 PM EST on Zoom as we begin reading Bryan Stevenson's "Just Mercy," a story of justice, redemption, and the people our system too often forgets.

The book follows Stevenson’s fight to free Walter McMillian, a man sentenced to death for a crime he didn’t commit. His central conviction is one we know well: "Each of us is more than the worst thing we've ever done."

At Joseph House, we see that truth every day. The men we accompany are more than their convictions—they are fathers, sons, workers, and neighbors rebuilding their lives.

And this is just the beginning. On October 29, Bryan Stevenson will join us as the keynote speaker for An Evening of Mercy, our 8th Annual Fundraising Gala at the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.

Following the screening, join us for a panel discussion featuring Fr. Dustin Feddon, Founder of Joseph House; Jessica Yeary, Public Defender for the 2nd Judicial Circuit; Seth Miller, Executive Director of the Innocence Project of Florida; and Pre Shelton, Community Educator, Joseph House.

Fr. Dustin has written the introduction to Dale Recinella’s A Christian on Death Row: My Commitment to Those Condemned, now available in English from Incendio Press (July 29, 2026). The book was first published in Italian by the Vatican's own publishing house, Libreria Editrice Vaticana, in August 2024.

Brother Dale writes from more than two decades of pastoral ministry on Florida's death row — first-hand accounts of men most of the world has written off. In his preface, Pope Francis calls the work a masterclass in God's mercy. Fr. Dustin reads these accounts as modern-day parables: the power of mercy over condemnation, and of presence over indifference.

It's a reminder that visiting the prisoner is one of the corporal works of mercy, rooted in Christ's own words: "I was… in prison and you visited me." (Mt 25:36)
