Join us in supporting a transformative event that promotes mental health wellness and social-emotional learning for at-risk youth. Together with The Lauryn Brown Foundation, weโ€™re creating a platform where art and social emotional learning untie to inspire, heal, and empower young individuals in our community.

๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ Picassoโ€™s Play Date offers a unique one of a kind event that combines the therapeutic power of art with social emotional learning. Through creative expression, these at-risk youth can develop essential life skills, build resilience, and embrace their true potential.

The Lauryn Brown Foundation, Inc is pleased to announce the Pathway to Education Scholarship 2021-2022 is now available high school Seniors starting today!

The Lauryn Brown Foundation Pathway to Education Scholarship was established to ensure professional and personal development for continuous growth, advancement, and success through education, community involvement and mentoring. Additionally, the Pathwary to Education Scholarship was created in honor of Ms. Brown's late Grandmother, Wilene Gipson-Brown.

Willene Gipson Brown graduated from Concord High School in 1967 as the salutatorian. Thereafter, she graduated in 1970, magna cm laude, with a Bachelor's degree in English from Texas College and later received her Master's degree in Education from East Texas State University in 1972. She pursued a teaching career and taught in Lubbock, Texas, Bay City, Michigan, and throughout Plaquemines Parish in Louisiana, and after 28 years of service she retired from her true calling, teaching.

The scholarship program provides scholarships annually to deserving students attending or soon to be attending an establishment of higher learning. Applicants sponsored by a Lauryn Brown Foundation, Inc. member are eligible for scholarships. The Lauryn Brown Foundation Scholarship Program Committee will annually determine the number and amount of scholarship given as funding warrants. This year, The Lauryn Brown Foundation is pleased to announce that two $500 scholarships will be awarded to two Graduating High School Seniors of Gadsden, Leon and Wakulla counties.

Applicants for The Lauryn Brown Foundation Scholarship Program must be planning to attend an accredited post-secondary institution or technical vocational/trade school. The applicant must have a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA (4.00 scale). Both female and male students are eligible. Applicant must be a graduating Senior.

SG Mental Health Counseling will be starting teen group sessions starting January 2022. Groups will be focusing on positive body image, bullying, and development of social skills, just to name a few!
