Family, we are preparing now. 💙🧡💚
Hurricane Isaias is approaching the Gulf Coast, and communities across the Florida Panhandle, Alabama, Mississippi, and surrounding areas could face significant impacts.
For under-resourced communities, disasters and crises are threat multipliers. The storm itself is only part of the emergency. Families may also face damaged or unsafe housing, lost work, days without electricity, limited access to food and clean water, and disruptions to medication and essential healthcare. We have to be our own first responders.
Yaya Por Vida Tally Pop Up Hub is standing with The Smile Trust and the Community Emergency Operations Center Network to prepare, mobilize resources, and support impacted communities before, during, and after the storm.
We are calling on our community to volunteer, give, share resources, and help us move with urgency.

El huracán Isaías se acerca a la costa del Golfo, y las comunidades de la región del Panhandle de Florida, Alabama, Misisipi y zonas aledañas podrían sufrir impactos considerables.
Para las comunidades con escasos recursos, los desastres y las crisis multiplican las amenazas. La tormenta en sí es solo una parte de la emergencia. Las familias también pueden enfrentarse a daños en sus viviendas o condiciones inseguras, pérdida de empleo, días sin electricidad, acceso limitado a alimentos y agua potable, e interrupciones en el suministro de medicamentos y atención médica esencial. Tenemos que ser nuestros propios equipos de primera respuesta.
El centro temporal (pop-up hub) de Yaya Por Vida Tally se une a The Smile Trust y a la red Community Emergency Operations Center Network para prepararse, movilizar recursos y apoyar a las comunidades afectadas antes, durante y después de la tormenta.

Come join us and our friends with Humanists of Tallahassee as we provide food, water, clothes, personal care and hygiene supplies to our neighbors in need! We meet every Sunday at 12pm at E Peck Greene Park, 229 W Park Ave. Behind the Leroy Collins library.

For those unfamiliar with Food Not Bombs, we are an organization that feeds the people. We believe that food is a right, not a privilege! Capitalism starves us, the state ignores us while spending billions on war. By sharing food we start a revolution. By sharing food we fight back!!

Everyone is welcome to come volunteer, donate, eat or just hang out. There are no sign in sheets, or means testing. We do not tolerate hate, bigotry or discrimination.

Through mutual aid, and communities organizing to provide for, and protect themselves we are building the world we would like to live in. Solidarity creates resilient communities, and nurture the collective spirit that keeps us all safe.

Thank you to everyone who showed up with food and support for our September 6th meal share!

It was truly heartwarming to see the community step in to fill in the gaps to help us ensure that our neighbors had enough to eat. This is what mutual aid is all about, people coming together to help their community members because it's the right thing to do.

We love and appreciate all our community supporters and we hope to see the folks who stepped up to help coming back again.

Call for volunteers!

We have several of our core volunteers who will not be able to be at the mealshare this upcoming Sunday, September 6th!

The folks who will be out of town typically bring several dishes for the mealshare, so we are expecting to have less food than usual.

If you are able to bring a dish to share that would be a huge help! If you are unable to stay during the mealshare, we suggest you use aluminum foil trays, or some other disposable serving dish!

Join the Big Bend Labor Chapter this Labor Day Monday, September 7, 2026 for a community panel focused on workers, solidarity, and building stronger communities.

This Labor Day, we’re bringing together union members, labor leaders, community members, and allies for a conversation about the issues affecting working people and the power we have when we stand together.

As part of the event, we’ll be raising funds for Food Not Bombs Tallahassee, a local grassroots organization providing free food, basic necessities, and mutual aid in our community.

One of our volunteers, Robert, is in need of donations to help him and his family welcome a new family member into their home.

Rachael is Robert's cousins daughter, she is currently living in a group home in Pennsylvania. The Lee family have been approved as a foster home for Rachael, and they are asking for financial support to be able to get all the things Rachael will need as she transitions into a new home, in a new state. , Three vears ago, we did a lot of initiatives and events, but I want to go back to the memories of the vegetable distribution initiative we did, and I remember it was a busy day of achievement to help displaced families. Thanks to your cooperation and generous contributions, we succeeded in achieving a very important step. Today we would like to remind vou of this impact that vou have made with vour own hands to confirm that our presence and continuation on the ground to serve our people in Gaza depends entirely on your continuous and uninterrupted support.
What did we do together in that initiative ?

Our team, led by Jamal, worked alongside local farmers and traders to prepare and distribute large packages of vegetables and fruits (package weight 15 kg) that are enough for the family for 5 davs.
• Number of beneficiarv families: more than 60 families.
• Package contents: (potatoes, avocado, lemon, banana, apple, eggplant, onion, cucumber, tomato, green pepper, and zucchini).
Total cost: $2,900, covered entirely by your donations. The joy was indescribable in the eyes of the people as they found what to feed their children under these harsh conditions.

The current situation: Suffering continues and support is receding. We know that times are difficult for everyone everywhere, but we appeal to your living consciences not to forget us. Genocide and aggression have never stopped, and the occupation continues to destrov all the elements of life. The maiority of people here live in tents or on the ruins of their destroved homes, and lack the most basic elements of human life.With the absence of universal free aid, the risk of hunger remains a threat, to evervone without exception. Unfortunatelv, we have recently seen a sharp decline in donations and support, which directly affects our abilitv to move and help families.

We are very grateful for every hand that has extended with good, and we have plans and events that we seek to implement to strengthen people's resilience, but we will not be able to take a single step without you.
