K9 Cleo Does It Again! The Sokaogon Chippewa Community Police Dept. Bloodhound located a domestic incident suspect for her second find in just over a month of being on the job. Ofc. Thomas McGeshick and K9 Cleo responded to help locate the suspect who had an active warrant. Forest County Sheriff's Office was called in to assist on the trail. Ofc. McGeshick used The SEKR Scent Evidence vacuum to collect a scent article. K9 Cleo trailed the scent at night through fresh snow and roadway slush for almost a half mile and located the suspect unconscious in the woods. After the individual became responsive, he was taken into custody. The Wisconsin Bloodhound team had their first confirmed trail just 5 days after completing training with Scent Evidence K9 in Tallahassee back in December.
GREAT TRAIL Ofc. McGeshick and K9 Cleo and thanks to the Sokaogon Chippewa Community Police Dept. for their commitment to creating a safer community. To learn more about scent discriminate Bloodhounds like K9 Cleo visit ScentEvidenceK9.com Mole Lake Band of Lake Superior Chippewa

Sunday, June 11, 2023, marked the 55th anniversary of the disappearance of Jonathan “Jon Jon” Hagans. 3-year-old Jonathan Hagans went missing in 1968 during a family outing at Jacksonville Beach. He was never seen again and his disappearance is the oldest missing child case in Florida.

In 2019, Jon Jon’s younger brother, Joel Hagans, met Scent Evidence K9 CEO Paul Coley and they began working together to find ways to protect other missing children in the area. In March 2020, K9 Jon Jon, named in honor of the missing child, was sworn into the Tallahassee Police Dept. to start his new job of finding missing persons.

K9 Jon Jon is a scent discriminate Bloodhound and together with his handler Det. Paul Osborne has had numerous lifesaving missing person recoveries in the past 3 years of service including finding a missing 4-year-old boy with autism in Franklin County, Florida this past May. “We knew K9 Jon Jon was going to be special when we were training him as a puppy. We are so thankful for the work that he is doing to protect the children in and around the Tallahassee area to honor the memory of Jon Jon Hagans, ” stated Coley. ST. JOHNS COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE BLOODHOUND TEAM FINDS MISSING ENDANGERED WOMAN AND SAVES LIFE! Dep. Melanie Merritt and her Rock Star Bloodhound K9 Daisy used their K9 Search skills to save another life on Feb. 13, 2022. Dep. Merritt responded quickly to the scene and collected a scent article from the woman's clothing. After a couple of negatives in the immediate area by K9 Daisy, Merritt restarted the trail from the missing woman's driveway. K9 Daisy immediately started to trail north along a highway for approximately 300 yards and turned
into the woods where she located the female lying just inside the wood line. She was breathing but unconscious. The woman was transported to the Hospital. It only took 10 minutes to find her.
Scent Evidence K9 CEO stated, "We are honored to have trained and worked with the amazing K9 handlers at St. Johns County Sheriff's Office during their participation in the Bringing The Lost Home Project. Dep. Merritt's quick missing person response and K9 trailing skills helped save the life of the missing woman when every minute counted."
We are looking forward to training with Dep. Merritt and K9 Daisy again in the upcoming Bringing The Lost Home Summit in Tallahassee Mar. 15-17 and sharing the best practices of their multiple lifesaving K9 finds. GREAT JOB Dep. Merritt and K9 Daisy and thanks to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office for their commitment to Bringing The Lost Home and creating a safer community.
