COVID-19 OPERATIONAL UPDATES:

All:

Per the new directives issued by our national headquarters on COVID-19, the directive prohibiting all in-person meetings has been extended to July 1, 2020. As a result of this new directive, the Tallahassee Branch NAACP office will remain closed until July 2, 2020. An update on branch operations will be provided at that time. We are still available for remote consultation and service by email at [email protected] or by the branch phone at (850) 759-0606.

In addition, the 111th NAACP National NAACP Convention & National ACT-SO Competition scheduled to take place in Boston, Massachusetts on July 25th has now been postponed. This is in part because the convention venue is currently being used as a make-shift hospital to treat patients affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Next, the Florida State Conference's June Quarterly meeting scheduled for June 26-27th in Orlando, Florida has now been canceled.

Our next State meeting will be the FSC NAACP State Convention & Freedom Fund Dinner, which will take place on September 10th - 12th at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando, FL. More information will be shared with you on registration for the Freedom Fund Dinner once that becomes available.

Last, our local NAACP Freedom Fund Dinner scheduled for this summer has now been canceled. We are encourging our sponsors and supporters to contniue to contribute financially to our branch, as we continue to place the health and safety of our members first. Stay safe and stay home! We hope to be back to normal operation soon.

🎓 Well as it turns out, 2020 is turning into a year of weird celebrations as we all cope with the COVID-19 pandemic. While our thoughts and prayers are with those who are affected, we couldn’t let this momentous occasion pass without paying tribute to all of our 2020 graduates.

Most traditional graduation ceremonies just aren’t happening this year, but we certainly want to take a moment to celebrate each and every one of you, and recognize your accomplishments with a giant nod and a long-distance high five.

Chase your dreams. Never stop trying. Never stop learning. Live life to the fullest and give it nothing but your best. You can achieve whatever you want in life. All you have to do is believe that you can. We believe in you, happy graduation! 🎓💫
