Thank you to our community partner; Red Door Kitchen staff and volunteers!

Look closely at these amazing volunteers!

Today, our mobile food pantry served 589 individuals across 280 households! That kind of impact doesn’t happen without the incredible support of the United Way Board of Directors and our dedicated volunteers.

The best part? Our community comes together every month to make this distribution possible. From volunteers of all ages to local agencies, businesses, and current and retired AIDB staff, people from all walks of life join hands to make a difference.

There is nothing better than spending my morning surrounded by people who genuinely care about their community. I am beyond thankful for each person who gives their time, energy, and heart to help others.

A special thank-you to our partners at the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama for helping us make this mission possible!

This is what community looks like. This is what teamwork looks like. This is what it means to live out our mission of helping others.

Feeding our community, one box at a time!

ONE DISTRICT • ONE GOAL — $32,000! ❤️

Talladega County Schools and the United Way of North Talladega County are coming together for a special campaign centered around “Cultivating Joy, Building Community.”

Each school in Talladega County will choose a two-week fundraising window between September 21 and October 30 and create activities that are fun, engaging, and meaningful for their students, staff, families, and communities. Every school will have a $2,000 goal, working together toward a district-wide goal of $32,000.

Schools may participate through a variety of activities, including:

🎩 Spirit Days and Hat Days
🪙 Penny Wars between classes
🏐 Staff vs. Student Games
🎤 Faculty/Student Talent Shows
💙 Staff payroll deductions or one-time donations
🤝 Direct donations from parents and community members

Schools will also have a little friendly competition, with recognition for highest staff participation, highest amount raised, and most creative fundraiser!

But this campaign is about much more than raising money.

It is about cultivating joy, building relationships, teaching our students the importance of giving, and showing what can happen when an entire community works together.

What does your United Way do with your support?

The United Way of North Talladega County works alongside 16 community partners to address needs throughout our community. Together, we help provide resources and opportunities in areas such as education, income stability, and healthy living.

Through the generosity of our donors and the work of our community partners, we help support programs such as:

📚 School supplies and educational support
🍎 Food assistance and our monthly mobile food pantry
🏠 Rental and utility assistance
👨‍👩‍👧 Parenting and financial education
💼 Job readiness and workforce support
🛏️ Beds for children through our partnership with Sleep in Heavenly Peace
🧥 Coats and other essential items for children and families
🎓 ACT preparation and opportunities for students
❤️ Support for individuals and families facing difficult circumstances
🤝 Programs that strengthen families and help people move toward greater stability

Every dollar raised through this campaign helps strengthen the network of organizations working together to serve people right here in our community.

One school can make a difference.
One district can make a bigger difference.
One community working together can change lives.
