Because of your generosity, we’re able to keep providing healthy meals to the kiddos in our care every single day. From breakfast to lunch and snacks, you’re helping us nourish growing bodies and support happy, thriving kids.

JSCF awarded Sunshine Station Child Care Center $1500 to help with the cost of providing nutritious meals and snacks to the 37 children enrolled at the daycare. The amount of the grant is tripled thank you to a match grant from the Alaska Community Foundation through their Nourished Communities Match Fund. This opportunity is designed to increase food security for our nonprofit organizations in 2026. JSCF's grant combined with the match provided $4500 to the daycare for healthy food!

We’ve been a little quiet on social media lately… but we have BIG news! 🎉

Senator Lisa Murkowski has successfully secured the final appropriations for Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26), and funding to build our new daycare facility has officially passed!

This is an incredible milestone not only for our tiny but mighty daycare! But for our families and our community. What once felt like a dream is now becoming a reality.

When I first started working at the daycare 4 years ago, I remember thinking, our community’s children deserve more. They deserve a space built just for them; safe, inspiring, joyful, and filled with opportunity.

At the time, it felt like a quiet little dream. One that seemed almost too big to say out loud. But with the unwavering belief, encouragement, and support of our Board, that tiny spark has grown into something real. What started as "just an idea" is now turning into walls, classrooms, and a future built for our children and community!

Our Building Committee has been working hard alongside Wolf Architects to finalize the design of our new facility, and we cannot wait to share more as progress continues.

We are beyond grateful for the continued support of Mat-Su Health Foundation for helping us get this project off the ground. Your partnership makes growth like this possible!

Because of your support, more families will have access to quality childcare. This investment strengthens not just our program, but the health, stability, and future of our entire community.
