We are stationed at Parrottsville Fire Department with free pulled pork bbq, mac and cheese, and baked beans for all first responders and victims of the floods for another 45 mins or so. Please come out and ear a warm meal and get any supplies you may need.

A few of Mountain Strong Sanctuary members will be joining our Chairperson Cheryl Lyle at the Parrottsville Volunteer Fire Department this evening to help serve our neighbors affected by the recent floods and our hardworking First Responders.

UPDATE | There is an elevated flooding potential overnight as showers and thundershower move into east Tennessee. With saturated ground and area streams filling up, flash flooding is the main concern. Watch the radar and have a plan to move to higher ground.

This message is a public announcement from Cocke County Emergency Management Services. Please do what you need to do to protect yourselves ahead of the storm. It is better to take precautions and have nothing happen than to wait and possibly lose your life. One life lost is too many 🙏.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued from 6 PM EDT today through 2 PM EDT Saturday.

Isolated to scattered showers and storms will continue to increase in coverage and intensity this evening, with rainfall expected into Saturday.

Rain rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour can be expected at times, in the heaviest showers and storms. Due to recent saturated soils and high rain rates, isolated flash flooding is possible for some areas, especially across areas that see repeated rounds of showers and storms.

Due to the scattered nature of the convection, it's hard to say where the highest rainfall amounts will occur. Some areas within the Flash Flood Watch will see several inches of rain, and some may see little to none. Areas that see training and repeated rounds of convection, could see upwards of 3 to 5 inches.
