"Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the LORD your God has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do." (Deuteronomy 5:12-14)

We invite you to stop by the Office of Campus Ministries and Missions to share your concerns, pray with them, and receive encouragement and support during the summer months.

We also have donated food items available for students who are staying on campus during the break.

Washington Adventist University (WAU) today announced that President Weymouth Spence, Ed.D., will conclude his tenure as president, effective June 30, 2026, and will transition to a new role, effective July 1, 2026.

In this new role, Dr. Spence will devote his attention to advancing critical campus infrastructure initiatives central to WAU's long-term success. He will build on the momentum of the university’s Vision 2030 plan to drive academic innovation, strengthen partnerships and increase institutional visibility to enhance the learning environment for student success.

Washington Adventist University was honored to present its report at the Columbia Union Conference Constituency Meeting 2026 (May 16–17, 2026).

Representing the university and its president, Dr. Weymouth Spence, were Dr. Ricardo Flores, Chief of Institutional Effectiveness and Technology, and Dr. Jiwan Moon, University Chaplain.
