A Tahoe City Fourth of July celebration takes a whole community, and we’re proud to recognize Bruce Olson Construction as this year’s Presenting Sponsor.

Their support helps make one of Tahoe City’s most beloved summer traditions possible, bringing together a full day of lakefront fun, live music, community energy, and fireworks over the lake.

Thank you, Bruce Olson Construction, for investing in Tahoe City and helping us celebrate the Fourth in a way that feels so special to this community.

This week we’re highlighting Tahoe City Public Utility District, a local organization that plays a major role in keeping Tahoe City running, connected, and cared for.

TCPUD provides essential water and sewer services, while also supporting the parks, beaches, trails, recreation programs, public spaces, and community events that help make life here so special.

TCPUD is also a major sponsor each year for the free Concerts at Commons Beach music series, helping bring live music to the lakeshore all summer long.

Whether you’re walking the lakeshore, spending the day at Commons Beach, signing up for a rec program, playing golf, enjoying summer events, or simply turning on the tap, TCPUD’s work touches so many parts of daily life in Tahoe City.

Thank you, TCPUD, for your ongoing service, investment, and care for our community.

Artists, your canvas just got a little more public.

The North Tahoe Utility Box Art Project is inviting artists of all experience levels, including student artists, to submit original artwork for utility boxes in Tahoe City and Kings Beach.

Selected designs will be professionally installed as vinyl wraps on Liberty utility boxes, helping bring more color to key corridors, reduce graffiti, support local artists, and create a more welcoming experience in our town centers.

The program is sponsored by North Tahoe Chamber, Kings Beach District, TCDA, Tahoe Fund, and Liberty Utilities.

Applications are due by midnight on July 6, 2026.

Local businesses, organizations, community groups, and individuals are also invited to sponsor a utility box and help fund artist stipends, production, materials, and installation.

There’s a new spot to sit, gather, and enjoy Tahoe City.

The Tahoe City Yard, a temporary mini park along Highway 28, is now open thanks to the leadership of California 89 and the support of more than 50 volunteers and donors who helped transform the space.

By moving construction fencing back from the future hotel development site, the project created a more welcoming community space with picnic benches and room to gather while the hotel project moves forward.

As part of the North Tahoe Community Alliance Town Center Revitalization Project, the North Tahoe Chamber and TCDA will also be adding public artwork along the fencing later this summer to help activate and beautify the area.

Thank you to California 89 and everyone who donated time, energy, and support to bring this project to life.

You’ll see her at the beach every Sunday, camera in hand, catching the music, the crowd, and all those little summer moments that make Commons Beach feel like Commons Beach.

Give her a big smile when you see her out there. You may just end up in the next post.
