We had some great conversation this morning! We talked about upcoming events and projects, downtown walkability, merchant surveys, potential parking opportunities, and more.

These conversations are exactly what Merchant Mingle is all about bringing our downtown businesses together, sharing ideas, asking questions, and talking about what’s next for Downtown Tahlequah. ❤️

A big THANK YOU to Bowlecito and Lift Coffee Bar for keeping us fueled this morning, and to Arvest Bank for sponsoring this quarter’s Merchant Mingle!

We appreciate everyone who showed up, shared their thoughts, and continues to invest their time and energy into making downtown better.

🍽️ Have you followed the Tahlequah CommUNITY Table page yet?

We’re excited to help spread the word about this new community-led event coming to Downtown Tahlequah on October 18!

One important thing to know: The Tahlequah CommUNITY Table is not hosted by Tahlequah Main Street or any single organization.

This event is being planned and led by community members, for community members. ❤️

Tahlequah Main Street is happy to support the effort and help share information, but the heart of the CommUNITY Table belongs to the community itself.

Right now, they’re looking for Table Hosts to help bring the vision to life!

➡️ Follow the Tahlequah CommUNITY Table page
➡️ Share it with your friends
➡️ Consider hosting a table
➡️ Help spread the word!

One table. One evening. One community.

October 18 | 5:00 PM | Downtown

Tahlequah Community Table is a volunteer-led effort bringing neighbors together for a community-wide sit-down dinner in downtown Tahlequah. Join us as we celebrate connection, conversation, and community—one table at a time.

YOUR SEAT IS WAITING.

Tahlequah Main Street is looking for community-minded people who care about Downtown Tahlequah and want to play a role in what comes next.

We’re looking for people who bring different skills, experiences, perspectives and connections to the table. Maybe you’re great with numbers. Maybe you love historic buildings, events, small businesses, marketing, or community development. Maybe you’re a natural connector. Or maybe you’re simply someone who loves Tahlequah and is ready to roll up your sleeves.

Board service is more than attending a monthly meeting. It’s an opportunity to own a piece of the work, help guide the organization and make a tangible impact on our downtown.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’d like to be more involved in my community,” this might be your opportunity.

Tahlequah Main Street Board applications are now open.

An important City of Tahlequah Special Election is coming up (early voting started today), and we encourage our community to get informed and make your voice heard at the polls.

The City of Tahlequah has provided information about the proposed sales tax, including how the funding would be used, the proposed projects, timeline and other frequently asked questions.

Take some time to learn about what will be on the ballot, and VOTE.

📢 Special Election Reminder! – August 25

The City of Tahlequah will have two propositions on the August 25 special election ballot:

Proposition 1: 0.50% Capital Improvement Sales Tax
Proposition 2: 0.25% Permanent Sales Tax for the General Fund

The current 0.75% sales tax approved through the 2013 bond projects is scheduled to expire in March 2028. If voters approve these propositions, they would replace the expiring tax beginning in April 2028, meaning there would be no sales tax increase.

Proposition 1 is a temporary 0.50% Capital Improvement Sales Tax, which would fund twelve capital improvement projects and expire in 2043. Proposition 2 is a permanent 0.25% General Fund Sales Tax, which would provide funding for general government needs, including emergency services, parks and recreation.
