My next show will be during Cherokee National Holiday, Labor Day weekend, in Tahlequah. I've applied to the Chota conference center location, where I was last year.

You can expect to see more copper earrings and copper gorgets, from polished, hammered, imprinted and etched copper. I don't use lasers or computer graphics programs, I'm not that technologically proficient. My etched pieces are hand-drawn. I've been working in shell again, and I've missed it. Pictured is a pair of Yellow Lip shell earrings that I re-worked from 2" round discs to 4-direction crosses. I sawed these by hand. I broke 3 saw blades; I didn't have the right type. The original large shell earrings were slow movers, people thought they were heavy, so I removed some material to lighten them up and add interest. I'll also have smaller mother-of-pearl earrings and maybe some pink mussel, and wampum. Maybe even some shell gorgets!

Cherokee Homecoming Art Show and Cherokee National Holiday Art Show are both in August. These are competitive shows.

After Holiday, Cherokee Art Market (October 10-11) is next. My textile entry is scattered on a table, my pottery entry is still uncertain. The entry to one of the above is in progress on my workbench! I'll be in the clay studio tomorrow. Stay tuned for updates!
