Just wrapped up the Standards for Excellence workshop with the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits—and I’m leaving so inspired!

I’m so thankful I got to share it with a colleague, Jennifer Phillips. I think we both left feeling energized, encouraged, and full of new ideas to take back to our organization. This workshop was all about building stronger, more thoughtful nonprofits—and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of this work.

We’re bringing home new ideas, fresh energy, and a deeper commitment to doing this work with intention and heart.

Inclement Weather Update
Due date has changed to Feb. 3, 2023 due to winter weather

31 is Drug and Alcohol Day - a day to raise awareness about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse and to promote among young people.
Art can be a powerful tool to bring awareness to important causes. Visual art, such as paintings, sculptures, and photographs, can be used to express powerful messages and draw attention to issues. By creating pieces that can be shared and seen by a wide audience, artists can help to spread awareness and create meaningful dialogue about important topics.
Cherokee County Health Services Council with the Opioid 918 Rural Communities Opioid Response Program and Tahlequah Creates have teamed up to have a youth art contest. Rules and entry forms can be picked up in our office at 135 N. Muskogee Ave. Tahlequah, OK

Seasonal influenza activity is high and continues to increase across the country. CDC recommends that everyone ages 6 months and older get a flu vaccine annually. Now is a good time to get vaccinated if you haven’t already.

The CDC flu map shows a dramatic spread of red and purple right now.
It’s shaping up to be one of the worst flu season in six years. So far, 8.7 million Americans have fallen ill from influenza, and 4,500 have died.
