One of Tahlequah’s hidden gems Thanks for your support!

Our Story

About 8 years ago, we moved from town and bought a five acre ranch at the edge of Tahlequah, right down the road in front of the Church of the Nazarene that’s in Tahlequah. After seeing how the horses have helped my grandpa and I, we decided to officially become a miniature equine therapy organization. We are family owned and operated with a team of 11 family members. We now have 16 min

is but not all of them are used for outings. Normally, we bring two or three depending on who can come and help. After a few years of having a big, old and ugly trailer meant for Thoroughbred horses, we got a black and white miniature horse trailer. A few years later, my uncle, who does wraps for vehicles and RVs among other things, came over and decided to spruce up our new trailer so it wouldn’t look so plain and boring. That’s how it came to have a trio of red, black and white horses on the front where the hookup is and the back as well with our name, Little Cherokee Horses and Miniature Equine Therapy. There are also some line designs in our colors in various places on the trailer. Despite what you might think, the ramp and door for loading and unloading the horses are on the side, instead of at the back. It also has three windows so the horses can look outside and they can come up so that they can stick their heads out when it’s parked and they are awaiting to be led out. We bring our horses to nursing homes, shut ins and mental health awareness events in and around Tahlequah as our free community outreach. If you would like to come out and witness the healing and calmness these wonderful horses emit or want us to bring a couple of them to one of the above locations, please contact us through the send message button at the top of our page.

The gray hen shows no mercy when it comes to sharing. She pecked the heck out of Midnight for eating HER chips. Midnight is ok.

Chickens drinking water. Can’t believe they prefer the green nasty crap over clean water.

This GIANT tree fell during the storm a couple days ago. I didn’t hear it fall so I didn’t know we lost a tree until my dad sent me this picture. I’m glad it wasn’t the other one or else it could’ve crushed a car and a house. I think my dad is going to get rid of the other big one so it doesn’t have a chance of happening. Last time, it was a tree on our hill and caused a fire. What happened to my brother 11 years ago caused me to develop Pyrophobia. Specifically house fires. Bonfires are ok.

These goats are crazy! They may be miniature goats but can still climb a full sized truck!

Plotting revenge. They don’t like how my dad blocked their access into his garden which they think is theirs. Last time they flew over the fence while he wasn’t looking, he chased them, picked them up and threw them right back.

The conversation I have almost daily with this chicken. She cracks me up! 🤣 No, I don’t have food right now/I just gave you treats for the 1,000th time.
