As a Sea Scout Ship, Odyssey strives to prepare youth for jobs in the maritime industry like captains, marine mechanics, tall ship educators, and tug, ferry, or fishing boat crew. In addition, Sea Scouts seeks to prepare youth for careers and jobs outside the maritime industry like military careers, marine biology, teaching, medicine, construction and management positions. Odyssey is a non-profit organization that supports itself through charters, time volunteered by both youth and adult leaders, and Friends of Odyssey non-profit group.

It is always a good idea to know what to do in an emergency. That's why we have Man Overboard Drills. In this case the captain "fell" overboard so he doesn't get to direct the rescue.
Note: no captains or fenders were harmed in this drill. 😀
