Today was a great day! We had a sun break just long enough for a ribbon cutting celebration for the Nisqually River Bridge portion of the Yelm Prairie Line Trail.

We are working with project partners to extend the trail to Roy. Thank you for your patience as we do the grant work for design funds. Please enjoy your visit and respect the trail.

We’re excited to celebrate the official ribbon cutting and opening of the Prairie Line Trail Bridge Overlook!

This beautiful new addition creates a unique space for our community to connect with nature, enjoy scenic views, and experience the Prairie Line Trail in a whole new way.

This project was made possible through a strong partnership between the City of Yelm, the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office (RCO), SCJ Alliance, Forever Green Trails, Boss Construction, the PARC Foundation, and the Thurston Regional Planning Council (TRPC). Together, we’re investing in spaces that bring people together and enhance quality of life in Yelm.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this vision to life—we can’t wait for you to visit and enjoy it!

FGT is proud to announce the opening of Phase 2B of the Yelm Prairie Line Trail on March 25th at 3 PM. Come celebrate with us and project partners City of Yelm - Government and Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office. Come learn about the project and next phases and enjoy the lovely view of the Nisqually River!

Hope to see you there, Nisqually River Council, Nisqually Land Trust, Foothills Rails to Trails Coalition, Tacoma Washington Bicycle Club, Pierce County Parks, Pierce County Council, Pierce County Executive Ryan N Mello and City Of Roy, WA. - Government!

AMAZING NEWS!!

For clarity, Phase 2B crossed the Nisqually River and landed the trail in Pierce County. It does not YET connect to a public right-of-way in Pierce but we are working on the funding for that. Thank you for your patience and understanding. This has been a Herculean task, but we are making progress, so PLEASE JOIN US IN CELEBRATION March 25th! All welcome!
